Past:
Ezekiel and his sister, Angel, were born only a few hours apart, with him being the later child.

Angel and Ezekiel grew up close and had an almost telepathic connection. They were pretty cute children, causing some troubles here and there as children did, but nothing out of the ordinary.
They instinctively knew what the other was thinking or felt pain when the other was injured

One day the two children got into an accident. They were both injured severely and in critical condition for a while...
In the end the outcome was Angel’s death and Ezekiel had to stay in the hospital for quite some time.
Their parents were sad to lose their daughter, but at least their son was still alive, considering they could have lost both of their children.
They thanked god, for at least only taking one child, and prayed for Angel to be in a better place.

However the happiness was short lived as they started to notice something wrong with Ezekiel.
At first they thought it was just a child’s reaction or maybe some of the medication he was on but... something was wrong with him, he developed a weird obsession with blood and had random bursts of rage in which he hurt himself or attacked others. His parents took him around to many churches, priests and exorcisms to get the demon out of him. (Since that was their explanation for his sudden change)
But in the end they couldn’t fix him and give him away in fear of their own safety

In the orphanage/foster home Ezekiel meets Adriel who bullies the newcomer but when Ezekiel doesn’t show much/any reaction towards it, Adriel starts hanging around him as if they were friends.
One day, out of a burst of rage, Ezekiel injured Adriel's eye, blinding him on one eye

Out of his obsession with blood, a tendency to self harm was born 

His suicide attempts happen in the rare moments of sanity and awareness
