Darya was born to a mermaid family who took one look at her and her purple skin and decided they did not want her. It is unknown exactly who her family was, but they left her at the door to a lowly palace maid's quarters. when the maid heard the crying of the infant she immediately came outside and took Darya in without hesitation. Darya was loved by her mother, and grew up with the palace as her home. Most people welcomed her, but were not appreciative of her appearance. Darya was a cheerful girl, always bugging everyone in the palace about everything. Around the time Darya was 8, she discovered the potion master and his little room, Darya had taken a great interest in his work and begged him to make her his apprentice. The potion master accepted as he was getting old and needed someone to take over his craft anyway. Darya spent years learning about potions and poisons and everything of the sort. Soon enough Darya decided how nice it would be if she slipped an immorality potion into her and her mothers drinks one night. She spent the entire night mastering the potion and she was sure it'd work perfectly. It didn't, Darya slipped the potions into their drinks that night, and she watched in horror as her mother took a sip and began to die. Darya had already drank it, as well, and as her mother died she waited to go too. But Darya didn't die, there was a reason behind her unusual coloring after all, she was immune to poison. Darya had become immortal, and had to live with the pain of killing her mother for the rest of eternity.

➳ TEENAGEHOOD

The potion master had developed a bond with Darya and took pity on the girl, he let her live with him, And soon enough the old man had passed on, leaving Darya as the new potion master. Darya hadn't fully understood the extent of being potion master until the king asked her to poison the drink of his enemy. Darya did as she was asked, but she had never expected that being potion master meant killing people for the king almost every day. It soon became a second nature to her, killing people at the blink of an eye. But somewhere deep inside her she knew how wrong the things she was doing were.
