Ellis is a stickler up for rules. Not necessarily those presented to her, but they're at least heeded even if second to her own. And hers are as set as her DNA strands.

Described as a 'stiff, uncannily adult child' when she was young, she'd grown into a self-certain woman and yet had kept every single first impression that still held up in logic. Even those that didn't. In any educational institution kids like her were best dubbed a hard-ass and insulted by it. In the Armed Forces she proved her reasoning behind letting nicknames stick - hardasses were obeyed, stone cold bitches were feared, STEM chiefs were respected. And at the end of the day very few opinions mattered to her

One thing about Ellis is the certainty and authority she holds herself with and the expression etched into her face that displays both. It's infuriating, but it stands true always. She's trained in damage control and therefore excells in everything less-than as well, she can make colleagues like her when she wants and hate her all the same, she can flirt and woo, lead social conversation even with people that bore or infuriate her to hell. She may seem like she is interested in all she undertakes, but she cares for very few things. The true Ellis would be described as... unpleasant. Dismissive. Bored. Tired.

Unless she is described by Victorianna, in which case... Strong, protective, devoted, a bit scared to live life, terrified of failure, a woman with the strongest emotions and toughest loyalty. Funny without meaning to. Adorable when annoyed. Clingy. Thoughtful. Home.

Background

She knows. It's her job to. There's a level of sensibility that comes with that and it's about the height of her pride in the job and herself, underpinned by the inflated ego of a certified perfectionist, a golden child and a prodigy. All of which she was designated to be and effortlessly fulfilled, one balanced step of the latter at a time. Yet for such an uninterrupted linear journey, it lead to a life of upheaval where Ellis flawlessly operated. The responsibilities stacked and she didn't suffer the pitfalls of a cushy past prefacing a dangerous future - the present balanced that line well. She had both a deep and superficial intelligence, gifted with one eye for detail, one for whole pictures and a third for everything beyond and inbetween. She never stood out above all but never failed either, attributed to a talent (and effort) to remain invisible and unbothered.

And still at 60 she found herself poked and prodded despite a mile-long list of successes in succession. 'Lonely' they said. 'Unwed'. And Ellis would have sighed in petulance and objected to to family tampering had she not connected the dots when handed Victorianna's file as if she were a business transaction. It wasn't even a matter of suggested courtship when all the details were this calculated, right?

A Mizuxe girl that would make a perfect wife and a good business partner, rich and approved by Ellis' parents - all things that made for a clean-cut process, would wed her into money, shut everyone up about marriage, provide descendants, unite two good families and answer the only remaining questionmark in her life. She supposed she'd never been in love anyway. No problem there. As all things in her life, she approached this with a level of professionalism; complimented Anna on her beautiful wedding dress and made sure she behaved in front of the inlaws. Until they had to move in together.
