Background/History:
Umi is a Japanese exchange student, sent to college overseas to give her more freedom and to experience the world in a way that her parents hadn't.  Ayumi met Briar when she was a junior in college and Briar was a freshman. Finally meeting each other during a tutoring work-study job, they hit it off well and have been dating ever since.
