Profile

A rare paranormal phenomena, Black Clouds are strong manifestations of formless bursts in negative energy. These have little intelligence, but simply exist in places where heavy or dark energy exists, allowing them to form. They are mostly benevolent but serve as an omen of evil in the area. Like paranormal spacial landmarks.

They only pose a threat to witches, psychics and other energy readers who can detect the strong vibration and piercing shrieking sound emitted by Black Clouds. It can be disorienting; may cause nausea, dizziness, and fainting as well as minor pain.

Under especially rare circumstances, Black Clouds can manifest a semi-physical form and develope their own intelligence. This advanced state requires an extremely high concentration of negative energy. At this point they are no longer referred to as Black Clouds by most hunters; they become a sentient entity referred to as a Black Rake. Not to be confused with the common Rake. These are a play off of the naked, spindly form of one, but nonetheless unrelated and far more dangerous.

Black Rakes have the ability to corrupt other intelligent life, cause rapid decay of flora and fauna, inflict illness or disease, and trap souls. However, they cannot leave their Area of Affliction: the radius in which the negative energy resides. Which can be incredibly substantial or a small concentration. Either way, Black Rakes should be left to be dealt with by experienced hunters.

Effective against Black Clouds: Spacial energy cleansing spells, green healing spells, banishment spells, physical wards, green shatter potions, salt and silver shatter potions.

Effective against Black Rakes: Strong mental wards, energy wards, strong green protective spells, salt and silver shatter potions (minor damage), strong banishment spells.
