Road Stars

Aliases: Old Headlights, Road/Path Lanterns, Fireflies. 

Abilities: Scrambles nearby radio frequencies, saps energy from electronics and machinery. Looking at them causes delusions and sickness and are known to be the cause of car crashes and hiking accidents. They are otherwise a benevolent supernatural phenomenon. 

Appearance: Dim glowing orbs of light, usually a pale yellow color, the size of tennis balls (of smaller) and seen in groups of 3 or more. 

Sighting Areas: Often spotted near or on lonely roads, they have also been seen in cattle fields, wooded areas along footpaths, and riversides. 

Additions: Harmful to faeries and goblins. 

Effective against Road Stars: Rock salt or iron shots will cause them to disappear temporarily. This is the only known method of dealing with them.
