ABILITY: Paradise Lost

ABILITY DETAILS: Junichi’s ability, Paradise Lost, is almost as sad as it sounds. At the cost of his own mental stability (notably, not “sanity”, but rather stability. Basically the side effect of this ability is depression/paranoia/anxiety/psychotic symptoms) he is able to grant a wish or desire of his own or someone else’s. The size of the desire/wish (either actual size if it is a physical object, or metaphorical if it is not) will affect the length of time his stability is removed until he recovers. For example, if he were to wish for a small object such as a pen or pencil, or even something up to the size of a small handgun, he may experience slight hallucinations or burst into tears, but it’s over quickly. Anything larger is more serious.

BRIEF OVERVIEW: Junichi is a boy who has been caught up in a tumultuous life ever since he was very young, and has grown to be very conscious of how the public at large sees him. Living in the shadow of his fathers has given him an intense fear of failure, or making anyone upset with his decisions, even though he knows logically it is impossible to please everyone. Despite this, he has an intense faith and trust in his family and friends, believing they can overcome anything so long as they are together. Although he starts out terrified of his ability and its potential due to an incident in which he was forced to use it to take someone’s life previously, Junichi grows to better understand his ability, and its most common manifestation once he gets a better hold of it is a shield, symbolizing his own ability’s desire to protect him and others, as well as Junichi’s desire to do the same. He is a kind and gentle boy overall, who holds on to to his beliefs and morals above all else.
