Profile

Quirk: Nightmare Prison

Kasumi can release a fog from her body. When inhaled, opponents' minds will undergo a nightmare episode, having to face their deepest fears.
Opponents' nightmares end when fog dissipates or if they have strong willpower.

She is personally unaffected by her own fog.

Bio

Like many other children, Kasumi was inspired to be a hero at a young age by seeing heroes on TV. Heroes who worked in groups especially peaked her interest and she hoped to form a friendship that strong with her peers. Unfortunately socializing isn't her strong point and she ended up isolating herself as a result. She worked hard to get into U.A., but due to the nature of her quirk she failed the practical exam and only did mediocre on the written. That hasn't discouraged her to improve her grades though.

Her dreams to be a part of a hero team seemed far off at first, but thankfully she made a friend during the practical exam; accident-prone Kota! The two of them worked hard to keep up their grades and eventually accumilated a tutor, Hiroki. The dynamic between Kota and Hiroki is extreme, but Kasumi's personality allows her to comfortably live with them both without disrupting the weird balance.

When interacting with others, Kasumi tries her best to be polite and sweet! She tends to get nervous and awkward quickly, though. She admires others with "creepy" quirks like her own. It gives her hope that people won't be quick to judge others based on their quirks if more people like her become heroes.

Relationships

Kimura Kota

Kota is easily Kasumi's closest friend. The two have gone through many obstacles together as friends and their relationship has stayed strong. She enjoys his goofy nature and always laughs at his jokes, even if they're elementary. She's guilty of being an enabler of his lazy tendencies (mostly because she shares these same tendencies). Her favorite pass time with him is watching new episodes to their favorite cartoons on the weekends.

The two first met when taking the practical test for the entrance exams at U.A. and struggled to stay out of danger. Both their quirks were useless (or dangerous in Kota's case) so they couldn't take on the robots themselves. But they helped each other to stay safe until the test was over. When they were sorted in the same class, Kota was quick to approach Kasumi since he recognized her from the test. From then on they were friends, making him Kasumi's first friend at U.A.!

Both of them barely passed the written test and were admittedly awful at keeping their grades up. Out of fear of being kicked out though, they took on a tutor that Kota found in their own class, Hiroki. Despite Hiroki and Kota's relationship appearing like that of a bully and a victim, Kasumi eventually caught on that the two had feelings for each other. When she heard it from Kota's mouth, she made sure to be supportive of the crush but agreed to keep it a secret from the other. Especially since her friend's would deal with her constantly getting small crushes on others.

During their last year at U.A. when Kota goes through a villain-phase, Kasumi holds onto the hope that her friend still has good intentions deep down. She refuses to ever believe he's truly become a villain. When Hiroki and her save Kota, she makes sure he knows how important he is to her since she's scared she'll lose him again.

In the future Kota, Hiroki, and her form a hero team, like she's always dreamed of.

Hirata Hiroki

Hiroki keeps Kasumi in check. Though she may come of as a good girl, she is awful at doing her homework and standing up for herself, but he steps in and scolds her from these bad traits. Even though Kasumi will always be intimidated by him, she still loves him and is grateful for their friendship.

During their first year at U.A., they became friends gradually over time because Hiroki agreed to tutor Kota and Kasumi. He was harsh on them, but the two agreed it was what they needed and never held it against him. Kasumi was the quieter of the two though, so Hiroki found her more "tolerable".  She didn't start to feel close to him until he had her over to his house and she met his younger brother, Akemi. It was during their time with Akemi she saw a softer side to Hiroki and that's when she started to fall in love with him as a person. It was nice knowing despite his angry/shout-y outside that he did have the capability to care.

Hirata Akemi

Akemi and Kasumi adore each other, but in very different ways.

The two met when Hiroki brought Kota and Kasumi over for extra tutoring. Akemi from day 1 has thought Kasumi was very pretty and as she came over more often he found out she was as sweet as she was pretty. He's determined that he will marry her and when he states this, she can't help but laugh and jokingly agree to it. It honestly makes her feel better about herself that someone could love her so deeply, since most her crushes never go anywhere.

As he grows up, the two of them stay close, maintaining a sibling-like relationship. Since Kasumi is an only-child, she's honored to be a part of Akemi's life and watch him grow up!

Seishin Shi

Kasumi likes Shi as a friend, but also has unexpressed, romantic feelings for him.

When the Sports Festival was happening, Kasumi was watching for all the Heroes in Training that had "dark" quirks like her own. Some time after, she bumped into Shi at school and instantly recognized him from the event! She was a babbling mess who could hardly speak, but her adoration for him somehow managed to get across. From then on the two would interact when they'd see each other in passing, though Kasumi's nerves never calmed. Eventually he would sneak off from class with his ghost quirk just to bother her. It made her feel special, but she always thought it was just because she admired him as a hero.

Before she knew it she was starting to fall for her upperclassman! She felt being a class D student, she had no place to express her feelings to a class A student, especially one that was a year older than her. Instead she would just cherish the time they spent together and keep her crush a secret.
