PERSONALITY

Inferior is a composed, casual Devil. Contrary to her name, she has no doubts about her abilities, no complex of being beneath others - it's a name she's taken for the irony of it all. She has complete confidence in herself. As a very humanoid Devil, she's highly intelligent, and is capable of getting along with humans. She doesn't see them as equals to her, but she likes humans. She likes most living things, though not out of any real care for them. She's sadistic despite her casual front, and the only things that are enjoyable for her to play around with are being that are able to think highly of themselves. Humans, Devils, Fiends - creatures capable of ego are her favorite prey. Lower beasts and self-deprecating things are funny for her to watch, but not necessarily play with. She enjoys seeking out whatever beings have the biggest ego, and tearing them down - it brings her more joy than anything, it's her favorite activity.

She's completely capable of forming alliances with other beings, but doesn't like giving out contracts - she is a very obscure Devil, and likes to keep it that way. To her, she is more difficult to counter if people don't know she exists, or the exact details of her power. She typically introduces herself as a nobody, a Devil not worth remembering, and keeps a tight lip on her abilities. She will often say that other creatures' powers don't work on her, though, planting seeds of doubt into their mind - and as she's able to get them to doubt themselves, her powers really kick into play, and she has fun with it. Inferior can form bonds, to a degree, but they're rarely permanent. She only takes interest in people she can tear down, and those people don't tend to like her very much after she destroys their pride. Very rarely, they'll tolerate her after, and her interest will linger.

Inferior isn't explicitly murderous, since she doesn't get any enjoyment from senseless slaughter, but also won't really go out of her way to help people. It's only enjoyable if she gets to wear people down, and many times, she'll even spare her victims from death at the end. Making them powerless is all for a night or so of fun, and she's content to release them afterwards, nameless as always. If their pride returns later, or they just 'get along' after it all, she's content to keep coming back. She has a preference to return to women, though - they're just prettier to her. And she is by no means a good person, she will have her fun in whichever way she pleases.

POWERS

Despite being the Devil of Powerlessness, Inferior is definitely not powerless. The fear of being powerless and unable to do anything about one's situation is omnipresent across the world, an incredibly powerful fear, and Inferior is, by extension, an incredibly powerful Devil. This is a Primal fear. She has the ability to completely nullify or cut off access to the contracts of Devil Hunters, Hybrids, or even other Devils.

There are multiple ways for her to apply her ability, either actively or passively. The first passive method she can apply is simply by making her adversaries doubt themselves - if her foes think their attacks won't be very effective on her, her ability immediately comes into play for that specific person within a wide radius around her, and weakens their connection to their contracts. As their contracts weaken, their doubt increases, and will eventually completely cut their powers off. These powers are cut off permanently as long as she's close by, and will remain nonfunctional for up to an hour after getting away from her.

A more direct method for her to apply her ability, for those with stronger wills, is to come in contact with her victim. This will merely weaken their ability to use their contracts for a period of time, but this confusion will usually allow doubt to form, and allow her passive form of her ability to completely nullify their powers shortly after. If that's not enough, swapping fluids will also completely nullify the abilities of her adversaries, allowing her passive to come into play again and make it permanent. Usually, this is done with a kiss, but she can always just put her fingers in her mouth and shove them into someone else's mouth - or into their flesh. If she coats a weapon in her spit and it slices someone, their powers are nullified as well, making getting pierced by her in any way very dangerous, as you lose access to your defenses.

This ability doesn't stop people from fighting back using regular weapons, it only disconnects them from their contracts and inherent abilities. Someone can still shoot a gun at her, or try to stab her. But it will hinder them greatly in their attempts to do this - her ability also gives a 'mental roadblock' to the weaker-willed, making them feel like they're unable to actually do anything to her, and so trying would be pointless and they're just setting themselves up for failure. Humans almost always fall prey to this aspect of her ability, leaving them to flee or drop their weapons instead of continuing to try and fight her. Devils usually have a stronger willpower than humans, so they're more likely to push past the mental roadblock in an attempt to hurt her. In these cases, she uses ways of restraint rather than killing. She takes great pleasure in tearing down the ego of creatures that have it, especially Devils. She's willing to gravely injure more monstrous Devils to crush their pride and leave them to crawl away, but typically will restrain humanoid Devils to draw out their suffering at her hand. The feeling of powerlessness actually feeds her similarly to blood - it's certainly not as effective as drinking some down, but she has a constant, steady regeneration in most situations.

She fights in a variety of styles - she's perfectly capable of beating people down with her bare hands. She has blades on strings as her primary weapon, letting her attack in both ranged and melee situations, and she can sink the blades into buildings and the like to sling herself around. She's incredibly agile, and can jump around and dodge at incredibly speeds. She also has a good sense of smell, like most Devils, and can pick out others of her kind easily. Her canines are also sharper than usual, so she'll gladly bite her enemies to recharge herself if need be, but she regenerates quickly in general.

BIO

Inferior has been around for a long, long time - she has no memory of Hell. Powerlessness is a fear inherent to every human, an ever-present instinct to preserve oneself, or give up when faced with odds too great. A fear that is Primal, yet in a relatively normal-looking body. It's not the appearance that makes a Primal feared, though it certainly helps - it's the feelings they evoke. She was brought into the world above in an isolated area in America, and things were quite different back then. Not even she really recalls her birthday anymore, but it was a simpler time, and she never really formed any bonds with anyone. The people around her she simply thought were amusing at best, dull at worst. She wasn't always sadistic, but her frustrations with humans snapping at her and looking down on her grew into her desire to rip them down. Even other Devils, usually the non-humanoid ones, treated her poorly, and she wanted to show them just what fools they all were. She was well aware of her powers even then, and used them to nullify the contracts and abilities of those who scorned her. She learned to enjoy their fear, and tested out many things on many different people. Through this, she learned that only tearing down those that have ego is fun, and so focused her 'playing' primarily on prideful, powerful people and Devils.

She decided she wouldn't make herself known. She decided she would name herself after these powerless people who she'd throw to the depths beneath her - Inferior. And as Inferior, she would wander the world, always seeking new beings to yank down to a lower level. She has little greater ambition, she simply enjoys existing, enjoys the thrill of subjecting the cocky and egotistical of the world to what it feels like to be able to do nothing. It's always the most fun to her when it's a humanoid Devil, since their distress is more visible to her, especially if they're female. Much of what she actually does outside of harassing cocky people is unknown, but she's sometimes seen just hanging around social areas, likely either scouting or relaxing. She's on 'good' terms with most regular people, and doesn't hold any real desire to bother the normal folk of the world. If she is annoyed, though, she'll gladly injure or intimate thugs or idiots into leaving her alone.
