Summary

There was once a realm with three kingdoms. Though they lived on the same shore, the kingdoms could not share the world they called home. They warred endlessly, until their fighting one day awoke a great beast of stone, who threatened to tear the world apart. The titan split the realm in three, separating the kingdoms and ending their battle, whether they wished it or not - One set aloft in the sky, another buried beneath the waves, and the last remaining on the land that it had always called home. And there was peace, uneasy as it may have been.

But, just like most things, the peace would not last forever. A prophecy foretold that the rock monster would one day awaken again, and this time, it would bring the world to an end with its hulking form and terrible magic... unless a chosen hero rose to face it.

Tamaya had her childhood ripped from her before she was old enough to know what was happening. Never knowing her family or any semblance of a stable life, she found herself tossed between the kingdoms of sea and sky for as long as she could remember, being trained for a role she'd never asked for, and could certainly never handle. Though she tried to put on a brave face, she grew to hate herself for what she saw as her own failures, and grew certain that she would surely perish, as would everyone and everything she'd ever known.

It was nothing short of a miracle that the truth was revealed when it was, as endless destruction stood mere days from their door - Her battle was not with the stone construct, but with a being of flesh and blood and bone, just like her. Though her foe had powers, arcane magic siphoned from the titan, she was ultimately mortal, just like anyone else. Finally finding a reason to believe she could handle this, the magic that hid her true form began to fade, and with the help of the strangers she met on the land, she fulfilled the role thrust upon her.

But though the wounds might begin to heal, the scars of the life she lived would never be undone, and when the storm had passed and she had finally started to process all that had happened, she made it clear - She would not forgive the kingdoms for all they had put her through, and should they ever push such a terrible burden onto another again, she would ensure they would pay for it.

With that warning, she left her old realm behind to forge a path of her own... with the first people to ever see her not as a hero, a tool of war, but simply as a person.

Hopefully, the new path she's found will be a better one than the one forced upon her all her life prior.

Trivia

  • After being chosen as the hero as an infant up until her awakening to the role of the Goddess of Hope prior to her showdown with Lorena, Tamaya was disguised by magic without her knowledge, and as a result she appeared to be a plain blue lion.
  • Having spent her entire life growing up either underwater or on a floating sky island, Tamaya finds the unmoving solidity of land somewhat discomforting. She's trying to get used to it.
  • Though she's been revealed to have very large wings, Tamaya cannot actually fly with them alone, though she doesn't realize it - In truth, she's only capable of flight due to her powers of hope and belief manipulating reality, thanks to her own belief that she should be able to fly. Having said that, her gills are actually fully functional, though prior to their reveal she assumed she was simply relying on the magic most of the Sea Kingdom's residents used to breathe underwater.
  • Despite coming to the Realm of the Gods alongside Nahia and the others, Tamaya has not actually been made aware of the fact that she's become a deity yet. That should be an... interesting revelation, when she finally finds out.
