Appearance

A scraggly possum consort with fur bleached white. Wears what appears to be a red poofy wig with yellow spots, within the hair a white chick appears to be nestled in. Make-up circles his eyes in colors green, black, red yellow to reference the Betas; within the painted circles are triangles red, green, blue, black to reference the Alphas.

Biography

Harold was a regular possum on LORAM who traveled from town to town performing small comedy acts. At least, this was until one day when he would become stuck in a mud pit. Fortunately it was fated that this would be the day he would meet his friend, Cynthia Cicada, who would save him.
Unfortunately, due to powers beyond their control, their meeting would be postponed by two years, causing Harold to be dragged down deeper into the planet. He died that day, though he would not stay that way. The Denizon of Cynthia’s world, Persephone, took pity on the consort and filled his corpse with Doom, bringing him back to life. From then on, he would work as both her left and right hand, traveling from world to world to make sure the dominoes were properly in position for when the heroes arrived.
The first person he would influence would be a lemur named La from LOTAR; he would convince them to stop their search for a way home and focus on saving the universe, pressuring La to become more and more deranged in their methods to understand consort biology and other various scientific breakthroughs. Harold would also go on to make a connection with Al, a cave spelunking scientist on LOTAE, who became obsessed with finding a way to save his world. Harold would help him find an Artifact of Aspect, an item of universal power that would ultimately corrupt him and force his body to turn into a monster.
After the heroes arrive, Harold would appear to provoke them, seemingly knowing more than he let on. He taunted the party with shadows of regrets as they traveled through the Trail of Woe, and he would appear in LOTAE tunnels to force them through a gauntlet. Strangely when La was on the verge of killing the party, Harold intervened and using unknown methods has forced La to be an ally.

Harold would eventually discover that Freddy’s Denzion, Charon, had sent the party to the Void. He guided them as far as his body allowed and would eventually confront Charon as this was not the Choice it was decided Freddy would have. After arguing, Charon enveloped Harold in a spray of Void, causing his body to give way. Ever since the party has not seen Harold, though have been informed he is with Persephone restoring himself.

Personality and Traits

Over time Harold’s slightly aggressive and antagonistic nature slowly changed to one of companionship and melancholy. He speaks exclusively in rhymes, to his own detriment at times of trying to communicate. He seems to be light hearted in nature and means well, even if his actions are beyond his control.

• Has no physical body, his form consisting of a semi-solid fog.
• Seems to be able to appear anywhere.
• Always knows more than he lets on.
• Though never seen on screen, it has been alluded that he has incredibly strong powers, enough to overpower La’s defended with ease.

Relationships

Persephone

His benefactor and savior, Harold is extremely loyal to the Queen of Fate. He may dislike parts of his duties but he has yet to fail any of his tasks.

Cynthia

In another time, the two would become the best of friends. Unfortunately this is not that time. Harold does feel an attachment to her all the same and actively tries to help when he can.

La

Harold and La have a mixed relationship as they were clearly friends at some point. Somewhere along the way they had a falling out and have since been on hostile terms. La has alluded to being angry that they are seen as a monster while Harold gets to be friends with the party despite the role he played.

Al

Though Al was originally just another domino to tip, Harold found a true friend in the bat. He respected their friendship so much that he promised he would always protect Jo. When the party saved Al, the two were able to reunite.

Jo

Though Jo doesn’t know Harold, he knows them. Because of his promise to his friend, as long as Harold lives, no harm will ever come to Jo.

Bill

The little bird in his hair! Harold in unaware of Bill’s tie to the Void, though that doesn’t change how much he loves his friend!

Charon

This Denizen is needlessly rude to Harold, referring to him as a broken toy that should have stayed in the mud. The two are not on the best of terms.

Techne

Though never seen on screen together, Techne references to Harold as Persephone’s vocal pet.

• Orignally Harold was just a regular guy in the swamp.
• Harold was meant to stay an antagonistic force until the party made him feel bad.
• Harold sounding like Herald was a complete accident
• Bill is short for Billiam! It’s a family name.
