Æsc Waters

“What’s your preference on flowers?” Aesc asked me.

“Mmmmm… I don’t really have a particular preference as long as they look pretty.” I tried again to gain my balance in this low gravitational world.

“Am I pretty?”

I was shunned for a second by his straightforwardness. “Y-yes…?”

I could see Aesc blush in a purple hue behind his flower ornament (since red + blue is purple). At that moment he really did look squishable.

"Since we're at it, what about me?" Hakao zoomed in between us.

"Yes, you too, Hakoi"

Hakao did a slightly sinister chuckle and floated back to what he was doing.

Aesc brushed his long bangs and scuttled next to me. "What do you normally do with people you think are pretty?"

Ngl, this fish is a little weird… "Just like… any other person?"

Aesc was disappointed to hear that answer… he seems to be someone who never hides their emotions. "You don't do… anything special with them?"

My mind went somewhere else when he said that but immediately flashed back. I sighed and patted Aesc on his head. "Honestly, I don't really think too much about other people's looks, because I think what matters most is what's inside of them, their personality. Sure, I think you're cute and it's not like I can't tell when someone's cute, but if you want specifically me to answer, then I'll have to get to know that person a bit more to know if I want to do anything special with them."

Aesc big round eyes stared at me in awe, then cheekily chuckled, "Ok! I'll show you how cute I am both inside and outside eventually! Until then," he curled up in my arms, "stay here for a while longer, please?"

I realised now that Aesc is just afraid of being lonely. I embraced him like a sister to their younger brother, "I'll be here".

Aesc seemed happy at my response, but… I'm really getting dizzy from spinning so much in this world.
