Summary

Ever since she was a kit, Arcticspring yearned to be a warrior - but that changed quickly.

Born in a litter of two along her sister, Swanpaw, Arcticpaw couldn't wait to learn about hunting and training and patrolling. In fact, she and her sister had constant playfights as kits, where they would switch turns being the enemy clan. Things were fine at first, as she quickly learned some basic swipes and got taught the lay of the land by her mentor - a dream for a young cat whose eyes were set on the stars. One day while they both set out on their first patrol with their mentors, shady clouds set on the horizon and the young Arcticpaw couldn't help but feel a sinking feeling in her chest, as if Starclan were warning her.

Rogues attacked at the border in droves, furious about a dispute the other day where a few warriors had chased one of their own off their territory for catching a mouse. Before Arcticpaw could even try to wedge her sister out of the nearby fence leading to the Twolegplace, they had dragged Swanpaw away, leaving her alone to drag her wounded mentor back to camp.

The life of a warrior no longer was the one she wanted to lead, as all wonder about the clans faded to horror that she wasn't able to protect her sister, nor her mentor who had obtained a lifelong limp after treatment in the medicine cat den. Curious about healing, she kept on returning to visit her clan's medicine cat, realizing with time she enjoyed it far more than hunting or fighting. While her leader wasn't fond of the idea knowing Arcticpaw hadn't emotionally recovered from the event, they eventually gave in when snow fell in the camp the very next sunrise.

Now having recieved her new name, Arcticspring, her timid but nurturing nature is well-known among her clan as an asset - and especially so by those who neglect to visit her.
