About
  • Name Cyber
  • Nickname(s) Cy, "Lieutenant", Mister Gun Guy, Papa
  • Gender Male
  • Age 32
  • Occupation Bounty Hunter
  • Former occupation Police lieutenant||Vigilante
  • Role Cyborg||Vessel of a sealed god
  • Height 5'11
  • Orientation Gay

A bounty hunter with a past long forgotten, most of what made him feel human being ripped away and a goal that drives one down a dark path of vengeance and misery, he seeks to find the one responsible for his suffering... Though.. One can't help but wonder, whether he himself isn't responsible for the path he chose. Constantly bound by contracts where he has to choose who lives and who dies, those around who aren't aware choose to call him heartless, empty, lacking sympathy. Whether there is any truth to these assumptions, not many will get to know. However despite all this there is more to this cybernetically improved hunter than meets the eye. He was brought back to life by the God of Eternity with what seems more like a curse rather than blessing.. Sealed within him is the soul of a God of Ephemerality who while believing it to not be the case, was tricked by the other god to trade places with them.

Coming off as rather cold and distant to those around, Cyber as long as he can remember seemed to prefer working alone, finding company to be more tedious rather than endearing. It takes quite a lot of time and effort to gain the man's trust due to how often he willingly pushes people away from him, yet there always seems to be more to him than that. With a history of protecting those who couldn't defend themselves and seeking justice, whether with or without legal authority, even after all this time he finds comfort in the idea of helping defend those around him, after all it feels so.. familiar. Underneath all of this behavior that may seem unapproachable at first, is a man who lost most of who he truly was, being left behind with only regret and suffering. With a sense of being unable to show vulnerability, his tears have long dried and he has no more to spare. However, he will always consider the life of those he truly cares about more important than his own, no matter what sealed being may be within him. There is a certain.. compassion, perhaps humanity behind his cold seemingly robotic gaze. While there may be much to regret, much to try and remember only to fail.. There is something that makes him reconsider his constant regret.. The family he has managed to find even after all the mistakes he may have made.

His goal hasn't changed. He still seeks the one who ended his life in the first place. But he has gained new goals in the mean time. One to protect those he holds so dear, he won't fail this time.. He cannot. To make sure they don't suffer at least not as much as he may have now. And the other ?.. To find this so called God of Eternity that deceived him. There must be a way to get rid of this seal.. right ?

Reputation

  • Can camouflage cybernetic parts by changing the appearence, disguised eye usually a different color from the real one.
  • Tends to have his hair tied up in a ponytail, just a matter of preference though because he doesn't mind having his hair down. It's also constantly messy and he doesn't mind when others mess with it themselves.
  • Is skilled with both firearms and melee weapons, usually has both on him and knows how to do fancy tricks with both kinds of weapons.
  • Doesn't feel temperature anymore, fire brings him an odd sense of comfort and a reminder of what the warmth used to feel like.
  • The only way he can get out of a contract is by murdering the contractor themselves, however it seems that he avoids this outcome at all costs, though he will never say why.
  • Night time, deep waters and fog all share similarities in why he dislikes them - he feels nervous at the idea of being unable to see or be aware of what's around him. He also tends to often have nightmares.
  • Cannot get drunk no matter how much he drinks, tends to drink alcohol at times due to liking the taste and not having to feel the consequences.
  • Isn't necessarily picky when it comes to food, likes less fancy food and something that can be eaten quickly or just be made anywhere.

Story

Right to Remain Silent

There isn't much to note about Cyber's past life before he joined law enforcement. After all most of the cases he had been assigned to weren't anything worth of note, at least, that's how it felt over time. As a police lieutenant he has seen many things and eventually, as insensitive as it may come off, he grew a bit numb to the shock and horror of death. However, a certain case did feel a bit more special to him, even if now it's more of a.. foggy memory. An abducted child who that day lost both of her parents to murder, he didn't understand how come the rest of her family chose to leave her behind in an orphanage after she was found. Cyber found himself checking up on her often, making sure she wouldn't feel left behind and it didn't take long for the girl to grown used to his visits. Sometimes.. He did wonder if it would be better to just take her in but with how busy he was, he figured it may be better this way. But the case that would lead to his doom.. It's the one he could never forget, no matter how hard he would try to. At first it seemed ordinary enough as a murder case but with each victim it seemed there were less leads. It didn't take long for the one behind it to take note of Cyber, who led the case and seemed the most passionate about making sure the suspect was found and fast. And so as the victims kept appearing, he too would get constant letters, writings on walls, whatever little details that would catch his attention with messages of mockery. Eventually the case would grow so large it had to be assigned to someone who they felt was more fitting to deal with it, yet the lieutenant refused to give up on this case no matter what he was told and so with a copied case file, he resigned from his position, deciding it was the time he delivers his own justice.

Justice Without Authority

While his main reason behind becoming a vigilante was this one case he wanted to solve and find the one responsible for, he didn't make that be his only focus. Often finding himself at the locations of the crimes whether before it went down or even soon after before they escaped, he avoided giving any sort of fatal injuries unless he felt that his life was in danger. After all he aimed for bringing these people to justice, not just to kill them out in the streets. However he always had his eyes out for one specific killer.. Ever since he has resigned, he found himself to be closer than ever, though this seemed to only harm him as it went on. But even with a lost vision in one of his eyes and an arm covered several injuries, he refused to give up - there is no way he will let him continue these crimes, not after how much he has sacrificed. This would only lead to his death as the murderer grew sick of this game of cat and mouse, deciding it was time to finally end it. He lured him out and no matter how much Cyber would struggle, he dropped to the floor of the alley, bleeding out slowly as he was left behind there with no strength left to do anything. His death was one that he cannot forget no matter how hard he may try, as it haunts him constantly wherever he goes.. He would never know that because of this sacrifice, the serial killer was caught and executed but instead believed he failed after all this time, his death meaning nothing in the end. Yet, just before he let out his last breath, there was a certain voice.. "What a terrible fate... Such good intentions, wasted. A shame, really.."

Cursed by Eternity

Soon Cyber had realized that there had been someone or rather something standing before him. "This was not what you deserved, truly. I can see.. You don't wish for this to be the end, is that right ?" He was only able to respond in his head, his thoughts agreeing with what was said and so, the being chuckled. "I can tell.. You crave vengeance, you want those who have wronged you to suffer the same way you have... That, that would be true justice, wouldn't it ? But one cannot do such a thing once they have perished... It is why I am here, as the Goddess of Eternity, I believe you deserve one more chance to make this all right. Allow me, to be the one to guide you as you return among the living, stronger than you could have ever been before... After all, you wish to find the one who had done this to you, correct ?.. Do you accept this chance, one that will let you to change your fate, once and for all, I ask you ?" It didn't take long for this so called god to find out his answer. Without much thinking, he agreed to this deal that he himself didn't exactly understand, fueled by nothing but a thirst for revenge, to make things right. Once he woke up again, he started to wonder where this had been a mistake. A body that no longer felt like his, most of it cold robotics, memories now replaced by fog and someone else, sealed within him, referring to themselves as the God of Ephemerality. Though, there had been more that he had lost, which he wasn't aware of.. The sense of justice, the morals he once had mostly disappeared leaving him behind as a revenge seeking bounty hunter who only acted on contract, but perhaps he will find a different goal.. One that will make this life feel worth living.

Relationships
Dell'arte Husband

At first seeing him in only in a professional context, as a source of information that he hoped would lead him to the serial killer he was looking for. The demon had this odd interest in him that he didn't quite understand though he saw it as an opportunity. After all, Cyber had a contract for his head and once he was sure he got all the information he needed, there would be no reason to leave him alive. But this sense of familiarity felt strangely.. warm to him. Perhaps there was some charm to this informant after all. He had gotten out of the contract by now and admits that the sense of comfort Dell brings him is something he didn't expect to feel in the longest time but.. He certainly doesn't hate it.

Temporarius Sealed within

For as far as he can remember, Cyber had never truly understood religion and the respect people would have towards gods, he himself didn't have such belief. This of course all shown itself to the God of Ephemerality sealed within him and it started off their interactions as tense, the hunter not being able to accept the trickery from the other Goddess who caused this or the idea that someone else can see inside of his head... However even with how both were unwilling to interact with the other, the lack of choice did manage to make him consider the voice in his head, slowly learning to adapt to it and allowing them to take control at times. They seem to share a goal... A wish to unseal the God, Cyber trying to avoid looking too deep into the entire situation yet, he may have no other choice now...

Aeternum Goddess of Eternity

The one who had brought him back to life, he admits that choosing to agree to such a deal was the most foolish mistake he ever made.. He couldn't have ever known what the Goddess had in mind when bringing him back - the loss of memories and morals, the mechanic parts, the God within him, it's all something he refuses to deal with. After all, they said it themselves that he won't accept a fate forced upon him, it is only fair that he changes it one more time... Though, Cyber would be lying if he claimed that he didn't feel the pressure of the possible consequences of his actions or a certain fear, even now unaware of what his true purpose had been originally. Not ever could he have known that a single decision he had made in a thirst for revenge could lead to something like this... Whatever they may be planning all he truly wants is freedom, one he was robbed off.

Ripper Enemy

While he lacks most of his memory, the terrible events that unfolded were the few spared and it seems like no coincidence that they always included Ripper in some way. Yet as much as he is forced to look back on the traumatic parts of his life, he always found one thing missing - motive. Though with how much he's done to him, he doesn't care about that anymore. If he wishes to hunt him down further then he will retaliate, show him the consequences of his actions without hesitation. No matter how much he wishes to move on he has no other choice, for he knows he will continue in his sick ways. Vengeance doesn't motivate him much anymore, Cyber wishes nothing but to protect those he finds close... And he cannot allow Ripper to live any longer.
