Cyprian Geoffrey
I find myself wandering the empty halls of a massive keep. It's banners have been torn and burned. Its walls seem to crumble under their own weight, yet remain, perpetual fires burning. Frozen in time. But I am not alone here. This castle has a guardian. A man in hulking black armor roams these halls, haunting this place like a ghost. I cannot see his face, it is shrouded in darkness, and his sword exudes the same blackness. It reflects no light. This blade fills me with a sense of dread. I hope to never meet its edge.

Lore
Cyprian Geoffrey was once the most honored knight of King Ead II’s army. While on campaign, Cyprian made camp with his company in the forests to the south, and he woke up in the middle of the night with strange nightmares of being cut down and slain by a faceless knight with a sword as black as the space between the stars.
He tucked this away, though, not letting any of the others know of his dream, until they returned to the capitol. Cyprian consulted the high priest, asking if this meant anything, fearing he was in danger. This was not an isolated incident. The high priest nodded solemnly, saying that perhaps there was something prophetic about this recurring nightmare, and that he would consult his texts and peers for anything mentioning this black sword. Meanwhile, Cyprian requested permission to return to the forests where this dream first occurred. The king agreed, sending Cyprian with two escorts and a cartographer.
Cyprian’s nightmares persisted. But as they drew closer to the forests, they began to change. It was no longer him being slain, but the perspective shifted, and soon, it was he who held this black sword aloft, surrounded by a landscape of his fallen comrades. He began to think that perhaps this was not an omen of his demise, but a prophecy of great conquest to come. Emboldened by this change, he pressed onwards.
When he returned to the forest, the feeling of the landscape had changed. It was darker, the canopy thicker, a low-hanging fog curling over the underbrush, and one of his escorts mentioned a feeling of dread. Nevertheless, Cyprian continued. The sword must be here. After hours of searching, when the sun was beginning to set, and they were ready to give up, Cyprian found it. Nestled behind thick overgrowth was a small clearing, no more than ten feet in diameter, of worked stone set into a circular pad and marked with tall standing stones around its circumference. Cyprian entered the supposed shrine, and found, buried beneath some kicked up dirt and tangled plants, was the sword from his dreams. Despite where it was located, it still looked pristine, it’s gold and leather-wrapped hilt still polished and unrotted, and the blade itself was so black, no light reflected off its surface.
Cyprian was inundated by visions as soon as his fingers wrapped around the handle. Visions of something that reached out to him with spidery appendages. And he did not let go.

Load-out
Weapon: Talon of the Entity
A large claymore forged from the Fog itself. A mighty weapon gifted unto the Entity’s chosen.
Power: Corrupt Blade
This sword is not forged from metal, but from the Fog itself. The Entity created this weapon. It holds power very close to its heart, and whomever wields it is twisted to its will. Its strikes are imbued with pure dark energy, and it infects the blood of its victims, warping them as well, spreading through the body like a virus.
Hitting a Survivor with a Basic Attack while your Power Meter is full results in infecting them with Entity's Corruption. Subsequent hits and slowly over time the corruption will grow. Survivors can cleanse themselves of the Entity's Corruption at an Altar of Purity .
Entity's Corruption I:
- Gain a small penalty to Healing and Repair interactions.
- Sacrifice timer when hooked is slightly shortened.
Entity's Corruption II:
- Gain a moderate penalty to Repairing, Healing, Blessing, and Sabotaging interactions.
- Cannot unhook other Survivors.
- Sacrifice timer when hooked is moderately shortened.
Entity’s Corruption III:
- Disables Survivors' ability to perform any Repairing, Healing, Sabotaging, Searching, Blessing, or Cleansing interactions.
- Causes Survivors to become afflicted by images of The Entity in the form of Generators , Windows , and Pallets becoming locked down by it to them intermittently for short periods.
- Causes Survivors to emit their own small Terror Radius .
SPECIAL ATTACK: Sweeping Rend
Press and hold the Power button to charge an attack.
Once charged, tap the Attack button to unleash a Sweeping Rend, a force of dark energy that leaps from your sword in a line to cleave Survivors.
Hiting a Survivor with Sweeping Rend will afflict them with the Entity's Corruption.
If a Survivor is already Corrupted, a Sweeping Rend will damage them and increase their corruption.
ALTAR OF PURITY:
Survivors inflicted with Entity's Corruption can use the Altars of Purity as a way to cleanse themselves of the corruption. If a Survivor uses it to cleanse themselves, they get a total immunity from being corrupted which lasts for 30 seconds.
Once they are corrupted, Survivors will be assigned the farthest Altar of Purity from their current location. Each altar is intended for one Survivor, with each Survivor seeing the Aura of their specific altar while corrupted. Once a Survivor uses it, this Survivor cannot interact with this altar anymore; another altar will be assigned to them the next time they are corrupted.
