Profile

The Grail Knight, or “Grail,” is an ostensibly lawful good nonbinary knife bastard with no known name and an unclear gender.

Time is a repeating loop. Wheels run within wheels. Sometimes, Grail Knight is Galahad, with white armor and golden hair. Sometimes, the Grail Knight is...a weird 5’1 Catholic punk from a trailer park in New Mexico. They are, in some way, the Grail itself, and everyone who seeks the Grail, and also, maybe, God. Because everything is, in the end. Maybe. They are a sword, or a solar storm. A saint of war. They have the stigmata. They collect old books and they’re new in town!

Grail is cheerful and extroverted, and usually speaks in a very polite, formal tone. They’re also one of those people who always has whatever you need in their bag, and have an extreme sweet tooth. Regardless of setting they tend to specialize in collecting ancient texts and artifacts, usually supernatural or magical in nature. Yes, they own a copy of the Necronomicon. It was a pretty dense read, and they would not recommend it to anyone without a solid backing in thaumic patterns and 8th century alchemy.

Despite their generally friendly demeanor, they’re capable of extreme and almost always lethal violence if provoked, and openly enjoy getting the opportunity to do so. They don't seem to realize that it's very unsettling of them to call murder fun. If they get “restless” enough, they will openly seek out dangerous situations to justify their more violent tendencies- escalating into spending their free days demon hunting or trawling for eldritch cult activity.

In all universes, they have some form of pain dampening that allows them to take massive amounts of damage and keep going, though they don’t always have a healing factor that corresponds with it.

Their original iteration was as an SCP Foundation oc, a cheerful alt-goth guy who worked on old books in the translation department and had horrifying anomalous combat capabilities. Their most common setting is urban fantasy, though they have a few high fantasy canons as well.
