Crates Theman was a peculiar purpleblood on Alternia. He often performed one man shows for the masses with nothing big in mind other than the sheer adrenaline rush he got from the attention and gorey outcome of every performance. He wasn’t as big as some other purplebloods in his circle despite his cult following of overly enthusiastic fans and this bothered him. They often criticized him for her seeming lack of drive even though they just didn’t understand. They just didn’t understand that she was meant for glory. He just didn’t completely know what that glory was supposed to be yet.

It wasn’t until one night, when he was trying not to feel sorry for himself that he stumbled upon the show of a ceruleanblood. They had a decent amount of fans so she took that as a sign that the show might actually be worth his time. To his surprise, the show was something greater than that. It was real and different. And sure there was no gore, but it was something greater than gore! It had life and hope to it. This inspired Crates to push his one man shows further and step out of his comfort zone. She attended more gatherings with his peers and worked even harder to further her love of the stage. It was at one of these soirées that he saw her, Auzzom Nyssus. He wanted to approach her to talk about their shared passions but before he could, a grubby midblood got to her first. The midblood was inebriated and incredibly invasive. For the first time, in a long time, Crates acted without thinking and struck the midblood, culling them instantly, splattering tealblood all over his face and her hands as well as on Auzzom. They locked eyes and he saw the light in their eyes. It was a single spark created by love at first murder. And that was it, they simply just were.

No one ever saw one without the other and he was determined to keep it that way. Things continued as they always did for Crates, as she always had a plan for every possible outcome that could befell the two of them on Alternia. That is, until she was sent two discs to a particular life changing game and this sent her world into unpredictability. Crates followed Auzzom into the unknown after they initiated the game in their friend group.

Sburb

There was nothing that couldn’t prepare Crates for the unknown in front of her. The uncertainty shook her to her very core. Prior to the game, he was used to always knowing the way out, time was on his side as long as he could manipulate the outcome. However, the game blindsided him with the death of his lusus, not because he particularly cared for them but because he didn’t prepare for the suddenness of it. She also did not prepare for the inevitable death of his friend's lusi. This was something he couldn’t embrace as reality even though he pretended to do just that. It was this stubbornness to embrace the movement of time that led to him being stagnant for the first time in his life. This stagnation almost put a pause on the show! After all, the show can’t go on without its headliner!

Underneath the hot lights of the bright stage of the game, Crates couldn’t steal the show alone. It was only when he embraced the tempo of his friends that he began to move forward. Despite being nearly one of the last trolls to god tier, Crates stole the show and put on encore after encore by shifting the gears of time for those most deserving of the applause.

Post Sburb

Post-sburb, Crates and Auzzom retired to their new universe. Admittedly, Crates always thought peace and harmony might be boring but with Auzzom by his side? He found comfort in performing for the sake of seeing Auzzom’s smile as they lived in peace and harmony for many centuries.
