Spr_2c_094.png 【Gengar】 Starter Pokemon, Seymour
Sages first Pokemon. They first met in Sprout Tower, where Sages father was last seen alive. While Ghastly are often a recurring nuisance of the shrine, this fully evolved Gengar was a slightly more shocking visage, and one not easily caught. A rumor of a fully evolved Gengar roaming the tower had spread, but many were skeptical. Upon visiting, Sage spotted the Gengar and cautiously approached it, to which it was readily sociable with her, unlike any other guests of the shrine. Seymour more or less named himself by pointing to Sage's travel bag, which had her fathers last name hastily marked on the front flap with a marker. Little did she know, this was his way of communicating who he was before he was a restless spirit. Seymour travels with Sage trying to build a bond with his daughter he was never able to obtain in life.
Spr_2c_105.png 【Marowak】 Second Pokemon, Quincy
While ownership over most Pokemon must needs be hard fought and won, Quincy came to Sage as a Cubone most willingly, much like Seymour. Sensing a most lonesome air about her, a quality he could relate to personally, he approached her while she was resting just outside of Goldenrod, and she's been happy to take him along with her ever since.
Spr_2c_229.png 【Houndoom】 Childhood pet, Honor
Technically her fathers Pokemon, Honor has been in Sages life since she was a child. Sages father trained him from a pup to protect her when she was young, and left him in her and her mothers care when he left for the east. When Sage finally decided she was officially on a journey to find her father, Honor insisted on joining her, as his duty all his life was to protect her.
Spr_2c_038_s.png 【Ninetales】 First struggle, Bloo
Once south of Goldenrod, Sage recalled rumours of a cool-colored spirit that had been seen running between Route 36 and Ilex Forest. She had no ambition or expectation to ever actually glimpse the creature, which is why it was all the more startling when it approached her, aggressive and territorial as opposed to the friendly whimsy she was used to seeing in wild Pokemon. A tense bout ensued, with Quincy being the last left standing. He had no problem subduing the creature physically, but it was still unwilling to be captured. It wasn't until Sage returned to Ecruteak at a later date, via route 36, that it presented itself and allowed to be captured. Sage named the Ninetales for her obscure, cooler coloring.
Spr_2c_065.png 【Alakazam】 Second struggle, Yorha
Between her back and forths on Route 35 and Route 36, Sage often encountered an Abra that would play tricks on her and vanish quickly thereafter. This continued for many trips back and forth between Ecruteak and various other southern areas of the Johto region. After gathering some badges and laying some traps, Sage was able to catch the trickster and use it's obnoxious abilities to her advantage, though sometimes, while out of its Pokeball, it still likes to play the odd prank on Sage when the opportunity presents itself.
Spr_2c_091_s.png 【Cloyster】 Mode of transport, Corey
Sages investigation was leading her to Kanto, though getting there required something that could help her traverse water. Being strapped for cash and unable to gain access to a ferry or any form of luxury liner, she resolved to sit at the shores of a small town across a body of water from Tohjo Falls and fish until a suitable vessel for her travels revealed itself. Though sage was fully prepared to release him back into the wild after commanding him to fulfill his purpose, she was endeared by his resemblance to Seymour, and was furthermore impressed by his combat prowess on display on their way to Tohjo, and decided to keep him.
 Trivia?

  • Despite being raised in Unova, her father always had an interest in eastern culture, and taught her Japanese alongside English as a child. This is why she has so little trouble moving and adapting from Unova to Johto.
  • Sages dad named her sage after the sages of Sprout Tower, many sages from which were close friends of his.
  • Sages dad is believed to have been murdered by a Silph Co. representative due to him collaborating with the Azelea Town Pokeball Smith, Kurt, and his Daughter to create a rival to Silph in terms of Pokemon tech innovation and production.
  • Sages design was inspired entirely by Gengar.
  • The name Sage Seymour follows my obnoxious habit of naming OCs with the initials "SS" (Soleil Shirma, Shishiro Shiro, Sumio Serebi, Selby Seasmith, etc.). Her father, Sigurd Seymour, also fits this scheme.
  • Sage doesn't participate in Pokemon league battles, having a general apathy to Pokemon battling culture in general. Instead, she spent a few years searching for her father in Johto and Kanto. After discovering she'd be traveling with him all along, she decided to see more of the world with him and her new friend Diego.
  • Sage is specifically an OC set in the Pokemon Crystal Clear version of Gen 2. Please play Crystal Clear, thanks.
 Other PKMN
  • Tamao, an Umbreon Sage obtained in Kanto and named after her fathers favourite Kimono Girl, who has since retired.
  • Kairi, a Dratini Sage won in a raffle and struggles to satiate with its bottomless appetite.
  • Missy, a Misdreavus Sage caught in Kanto and has used several times in certain decisive battles.
  • Veronica, a Venasaur Sage raised from a rescued Bulbasaur.
