Viviana

Viviana and her twin sister Yiriana (subject to possible name change) were a pair of twin immortals in a time before time. The twins shared many similarities besides their looks, both having a curiosity for the unknown, a heart for protecting those in need and a fondness for mortals and their intriguing short lived lives that always seemed to be teeming with adventures and drama. Viviana was the more people person and took more interest in interacting with others, usually watching mortals or disguising herself and interacting with their society. Yiriana was the more learned, tending more to research and learning more of magic and the universe to learn its mysteries.

Yiriana had great talents for learning and teaching and had opened academies all over to spread the wealth of knowledge to the mortal realm. She took great pride in protecting the rights of the mortals to education and freedom. Guiding many to arcade discoveries and moral quandaries, she had set up the ideals for such beliefs among a lot of the populace and becoming greatly known for such beliefs.

Viviana was always attuned with her powers and magic, tending to use and manipulate them through will and feeling. She mostly specialized in healing and body enhancement magic, and soon found she had a strong connection to the lifestream, a plane of constant flowing energy that is connected to all living things, giving them life. Seeing this flow she could see future and past events of a person's life and information about them, seeing the events that gave them scars or wounds and their future fates that would end their flow of life. This connection made her feel strongly for mortals and their short life spans, wanting to help them feel more fulfilled or gain happiness to enjoy their lives. Both her and her sister stood for protection and freedom for mortals, for their freedom to live and learn their entire lives.

During Viviana’s adventures around the realm in her guise as a travelling fortune teller, she met and befriended many mortals, one of the first she met and befriended was a young blind girl named Krya. On this first encounter, the girl had impressed Viviana with her strong desire to protect her town and people despite her handicap. After hearing her story, VIviana restored her sight and helped her learn some magic and about the lifestream, giving her the knowledge on how to heal her people. Krya became a devout disciple to her and soon Viviana departed to continue her journey. Although Viviana’s teaching on the subject was terrible, she knew the river was a river but not the intricacies of it, she still gave Krya the beginnings of how to begin interacting with the lifestream.

After leaving, Viviana soon stumbled upon demi-humans or half-humans, a new phenomenon of a mixing of the human race with the many other races of the realm. Finding out that these races were viewed as lesser and received a lot of hate and abuse from their respective races. Viewing all mortals as equal, Viviana took it upon herself to begin protecting these poor beings from this hatred, revealing her true form to build up knowledge and popularity of accepting these races. Viviana began taking in these young half-borns, finding and protecting them from abuse and hate from their communities.

Doing this added to an already formed disdain for the powerful immortals, viewing Viviana as protecting deadly monsters and making more mortals scared of the immortals. With tensions already high from other immortal’s evil deeds, and fear from mortals toward these entities with the power to possibly wipe them out whenever they wanted. This already existing gap soon led to the “Great Purge” a powerful magic that was devised and used to exterminate all the immortal beings and purge them from the world. This purge was not instant, giving enough time for Viviana and Yiriana enough time to figure out a plan. They found out that their encouragement for the spread of knowledge and teachings they provided had evolved into the source of power for this purge, learning enough magic to develop such a spell to enact this purge.

Viviana found out that Krya, her first and only disciple of lifestream magic had tore open a connection to the plane and devised a spell to use it to kill all immortals, forcing their connections to the lifestream to be severed, thus killing them. Krya had done this all out of anger of feeling betrayed upon finding out her teacher had been an immortal, and protecting monsters, the same monsters who terrorized her people and city. This deep anger was fueled by peers who helped her devise this spell and hatred for immortals and the half-borns.

Yiriana quickly devised a way to escape, a way to tear a hole in time and space and escape the plane and destruction, she told all the others and her sister to gather for the escape. Both sisters knew this tear and opening of the lifestream would have great repercussions on the mortals, possibly killing all of them soon after the first purge finished. During this short instance of Yiriana opening a rift, Viviana sped away to the source of the tear, knowing what Viviana was about to do she cried out for her to stop, tears flowing down her cheeks, shouting “DEAR SISTER PLEASE! YOU WILL NOT SURVIVE LET ALONE BE TRAPPED THERE!” Viviana gave a pained smile and a “Goodluck” as she left behind a note unable to have enough time for a proper goodbye. Yiriana continued her magic with pain, knowing she would lose her only sister today but save their friends and fellows.

Viviana went to the source of the tear, all along her body deteriorating and being torn apart from the effect of the purge, but being able to reach her destination and confront Krya. There Krya had been fighting the half-born rescued by Viviana, incapacitating many of them while they tried to stop the purge. Shocked to see her teacher and being seen in such a situation, she was frozen in place, while her teacher approached her, Viviana took her by her hands, smiled and said “Tis okay child, I forgive thee, anger  1w must never tamper with this magic again and flee!”. Now completely lost that her teacher would forgive her for what she had done, she stared in awe as Viviana smiled on last time then went into the tear in the plane. Viviana begane closing the tear, forcing it to close slowly while her body continued to be torn apart, her followers trying to reach for her to grab her hand on the other side of the portal, desperately trying to save their protector, they saw her last moments before the gateway closed, giving them one last smile as the portal was closed, sealing off the rampant magic.

Yuriana later read the note from her sister after they had made it to safety, the note stated the following

“Dearest sister, thy genius is far greater than mine could ever reach, thou deserveth to lead others to freedom. Betwixt us both, we have some knowledge of the repercussions of such devastation of such a spell, and the mortal realm should not suffer as a whole for this one moment. This layabout shall correct this sin and protect this realm one last time. Please continue thy beliefs and protections, for mine self shall always be beside thee.”

The record of this history eventually evolved into what is known about Yolana today, where the twins fused into one and saved the other deities from the great purge. With much of the history, as many other stories, being forgotten to time.
