First seen in my TLK fanfiction "A Heart in the Dark" which is sort of a TLK 4.5 story. He is born in the pridelands and quickly makes friends with his cousin, Afia (who is Kiara and Kovu's third child and is less than a year older than him). Tempest and her family return to her home away from the pridelands. In TLK5: The way home, After a year, they come, once again, to the Pridelands where Torrent meets his new cousins. He acts like a complete turd, wanting to look cool and better than them. He is not irredeemable, however, and eventually learns how to be a good friend.
