Anwen

Anwen is my favorite problem child fr . They are incredibly ambitious, stubborn, & intelligent. They are always working towards goals that get them far in over in their head. Defined by my dm as a former black pawn, Anwen is quick to anger & even faster at making assumptions and causing problems. Despite this, they are fiercely loyal to those they care about [especially their wife Irene] & continue to try and better themselves. Although given many MANY short sticks in life, it has never deterred them and they continue to do their best :-] I love u anwen my silly silly changeling rogue, they r my little meow meow who causes soooo many problems.

okay if im being perfectly honest i did write out half of anwens backstory but we are now over a YEAR into the campaign and so much has happened that i do not even think i can begin to contextualize it all for a character bio on here. here are the details in the shortest form possible Anwen was born due to an affair between a noble and her assassin & very shortly after was blessed by a god named Lyssta who gave them magic & the form/powers of a changeling. However, the country they were born into (Vedria) is not.. fond.. of magic & to save their life they were taken away and hid in a small cabin in the woods, this is where they spent the first 17 years of their life. This is highlighted mostly by short visits from their dad (an assassin with little free time, least of all for child care) & often conversations with their divine friend (Lyssta). After 17 years, their dad appears on the doorstep in horrible condition & tells them to flee the house & join the assassins guild where they will be safe. He passes away shortly after & Anwen sets out to find if Lyssta can do anything to bring him back.

Long story short, she cant. They meet Kaal. Kaal tricks them into making a pact and for about 10 years they work together in the assassins guild. Anwen, attempting to find who killed their father and Kaal, attempting to slowly kill Lyssta through Anwen. Eventually, Anwen gets tasked with assassinating a councilwoman named Ambrosia Vermillion. They are the worst at their job and so they fall in love with her instead. Kaal decided that actually! fuck you anwen! and kills Ambrosia, forcing Anwen to cover up her murder and to disguise as her until the Ozrac toll, after which they could run away back to Vedria and idk go back to their day job or sm

nothing in btf ever goes to plan though, and anwen gets roped into a political rebellion against vedria in the name of saving ozrac (and also the world). anyways thats all pre campaign! uhm ! no i will not go into detail for the next year that we have played. SO much happened might update eventually. THOUGH. if i WERE to summarize. it would go a little like this.

They get taken for the toll as Ambrosia and meet up with the party [still in the party is Ansel, Leopold of Lethage, & Eftimie Avermescu (though we did initially set out w two more characters Jericho & Hermes)]. Through the first like 2/3 weeks they basically relive the night they killed Ambrosia like 4 times and it is awful! they are not handling it well! however, eventually they get an invitation to Ambrosia's sister [Estelle's] birthday bash! woohoo! said noone. There it is revealed that Anwen is actually an assassin and changeling & they killed the best npc in the game (im so sorry). A SHIT ton of stuff happens oh dear god so much stuff. Eventually they lose Kaal due to a fight that kills them, their wife Irene, and Eftimie all in the span of like 2 turns. BUT we all get revivified and everything is okay! OR SO I THOUGHT. anyways Anwen's connection to lyssta is also FAR gone at this point. uhrm there is so much fr i just cant summarize anything or we'll be here forever. we fight the bbeg (jeremiah) and kill him :-] thank god. and anwen & their now wife Irene go back to Irene's kingdom to live peacefully for all of 4 months before Kaal's greater god Etea comes back and now is literally killing Anwen also the whole world is losing magic and we are all gonna die for real oh dear god
