Character

Much like his father, Zircon finds very little enjoyment in crowds. While he does not favor conversation, long or short, that does not mean he is impolite and callous. It is the opposite; Zircon is quite empathetic towards other creatures. As a spawn of the Mind Titan, his ability to read emotions is unmatched. He is quite skilled at hiding his own and often comes off as insensitive when that is never really the case. Zircon is very self-conscious and often finds himself worrying about how others might feel towards him. Remembering his father's disdain, he is often caught dwelling on older memories.

Backstory

As an albino within a den of dark-scaled, cave dwelling dragons, Zircon was considered the outcast, the most unique and also the most beautiful of the Rh'Ordians. To his father, the Rh'Ordian patriarch, this was an unacceptable abnormality; one that defied the traditional appearance of the species. With his mindreading abilities, Zircon picked up on Alvah's disdain quickly, despite what little conversation they rarely had. This weighed heavily on his insecurity whilst growing up.

This oddity played a vital part in the Rh'Ordian's great defeat as the power of Zircon's allure attracted the fascination of a long-waiting rival, Cryo. Unintentionally leading the Wind Titan directly to their cave like a beacon, his hostility and greediness cost the lives of several Rh'Ordians. One of the victims included his sister, Sphene. The attack sent Alvah into a rage where he, bullheadedly, exiled Zircon, claiming he was a danger. This forced the young prince to learn to live on his own in a wild, unforgiving desert full of the Wind Titan's underlings... or perish.

Quickly becoming a vigilante of the desert, Zircon made it his responsibility to recover abducted inhabitants, both foreign and native to the desert, from Cryo's bivouacs (a majority of them dames) in an attempt to fill the void of self-doubt. Those injured, lost or amnesiac, he brought to a distant oasis to keep and protect from the Titan's clutches. There, the survivors gathered to form an encampment of their own. Zircon was honored and praised for his chivalry, yet he continued to feel empty inside; unwanted. Regardless of those that told him otherwise, his insecurity remained a burden. So, he remained distant, unwilling to accept such praise despite his rising desire to feel accepted.

Despite his valor, Zircon stood alone, pondering in silence that someday he might be able to return to his home dwelling to redeem what he had lost.

...and to kill Alvah for his unjustified enmity.

Notes

• Possess intense psychic abilities just like his father, but doesn't use them.
• Can and will read minds. He's constantly fearful of what others are thinking about him.
• Doesn't enjoy being around crowds or anyone at all, unless it's a one-on-one.
• His eyelashes are white and very prominent.
• Ear gauges are 14mm with Rh'Ordian family insignia on them.

Relationships

Alvah [ father ]

Zircon sees Alvah as nothing more than an agitator and an enemy. He does not deem him to be worthy of leading Rh'Ordians, and may argue against his rule, but prefers to have nothing to do with him. He does not care what happens to him, for the better or worse.

Sphene [ sister ]

The only good memory he has left of home before being exiled. He misses her daily and only wishes to avenge her death. In due time.

Argenon [ friend ]

A Northern denizen Zircon rescued from Cryo's clutches. He is the assigned overseer of the small oasis camp they helped create. Zircon feels at least comfortable enough to confide in him.
