Kaolin is a phantom rogue, working with a small group in Vailhaven to strike at the Gnarian Empire and help its many victims. OK so like every highschool popular girl bully in sitcoms except quieter, less popular and actually useful. Aside from their overall dismissiveness of others, and very contrarian nature, Kaolin is a reserved, intelligent, and relaxed sort that seems to constantly have pottery on the mind. Well versed in many topics, he's well educated and quick witted with little patience to explain things to others. Enjoys comfortable silence but won't hestitate to speak his mind if needed. Always looking to make some extra gold.

Pottery
A hobby that he has seemed to throw himself into, with an emphasis on smooth, flowing shapes and simplicity. It's something he's obviously spent a long time working on, as he prides himself on the quality.
Minimalism
No need to overcomplicate things, Kaolin keeps his room, outfits and artwork plane. He would absolutely approve of a blank canvas hung in an art gallery. Marvelous. It really speaks to him.
Horses
He was just a massive horse girl in his youth and loved racing along the country side. Will absolutely spend his spare time hanging out in the stables, despite not currently having a horse of his own.
Money
Seems obsessed with collecting wealth and selling anything that could catch a venders eye. Doesn't have many possessions, maybe he's saving up for a nice vacation? Either way, he's constantly stretching how far he'll go for it.

While Kaolin has no real dislike of puppeteering a copy of someone else, he'd much rather spent time focusing on himself. There are probably - no, - assuredly, some more deep rooted issues related to this.
Taking Orders
He doesn't mind being told what to do, exactly, it's more that he just very much enjoys having freedom of choice. A part of why he joined the fight with Veilhaven.
Complexity
It's unwise to take things at face value, and Kaolin never does, looking into everything, it would sure be nice if things could just be upfront and simple... Despite not being very upfront himself.
People
This isn't entirely true, but it's difficult to gauge intentions and who knows what kind of expectations other people may have of you. The unpredictability, the risk of trusting others. Kaolin isn't a fan, yet can't quite stand being on his own.

As a changeling he can easily change form, but rarely does so unless it's a truly dire situation. The reason for this is unknown. Kaolin can’t duplicate the appearance of a creature they’ve never seen, and must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs that they have. Their clothing and equipment aren’t changed by this transformation.
Sneak Attack
Nimble and stealthy, Kaolin easily takes advantage of this tried and true rogue ability. Once per turn, they can deal an extra 2d6 damage to one creature they hit if they have advantage or if another ally is within 5ft of the target.
Wails from the Grave
Going hand-in-hand with their sneak attack, wails from the grave can sound when he hits a target, dealing another enemy within 30ft 1d6 necrotic damage as eerie whispers echo in the distance. Can be activated 2 times per long rest.
Whispers of the Dead
Every long rest Kaolin gains a proficiency with a skill or tool set that they lack. This proficiency goes away when they use another long rest to choose another skill. (so it's not stackable.)

Hush is a moral type that Kaolin had to bail out of danger when he had given Hush plenty of warning. Or at least that's how Kaolin sees it. On the bright side, Hush owes him one.

Lupe is an easily excited and curious sort. A little much, if you ask Kaolin, and fun to mess with. They seem to be alone on this assumption though as she is well liked by the group. Got impaled in a trap once. That was interesting.

Jury is still out on this fairy druid. Hasn't caused any problems for Kaolin thus far and so he is a welcome addition to any adventure as far as Kaolin is concerned. Blunt, helpful, and can turn into a panther at a moments notice.
