PERSONALITY
Optimistic and adventurous, perhaps to a fault. Growing up in such a cold and isolated place, they learned to make the most of their few connections to the outside world- the world outside of the hunk of metal NAVY refers to as a maintanance base. Those in their surroundings and the people they meet on the internet are treated far differently. The former with begrudging companionship at best (and utter distaste and suspicion, in most cases). The latter with either blind trust or awkward small-talk. Hardly any in-between. Dez loves to talk to those they feel they can trust, and though they might not have a lot to talk about, they sure do talk a lot.
DESIGN (ARTISTS LOOK HERE!)
Dez's design is a very fun one, I think? It's pretty straightforward but there are a couple of noteworthy quirks that should be taken into account. Firstly, that little ball surrounding their head at all times? Not optional! That's their planet! Their planet is a key part of their recognizable sillouette, like Timmy Turner's weird hat, or something like that. The other thing is that their sign on their hoodie is sometimes on different sides, but it's always a bit below the shoulder, like a patch on a jacket. It switches sides because the intent is that it's visible as often as possible. Depending on your art style, you might want a more definitive answer for which side it's on, though. That would be the side it's on in this image.
Good/neutral traits
- OPTIMISTIC: They may not always be upbeat about it, but they'll try to extract the best outcome out of any situation if they think it's possible.
- STILL REALISTIC: Everyone has limits, and while Dez isn't afraid to push their's, even they can see sometimes when something is just too much.
Bad traits
- TRUSTING TO A FAULT: Is not afraid to leak private details of their life to people they've only barely met.
- FEARFUL: They're afraid of the ocean, they're afraid of the future, and they're, perhaps rightfully so, afraid of the clunking metal divers that surround them day to day.
RELATIONSHIPS
Romance
Dez doesn't currently have any romance in their life, but who knows what the future may hold...
Friends
Gale Baxter: Longtime online friend who Dez met over shared nerdy interests. Both happen to love comics and movies.
Gizmondo Tigris: A veritable "Game Master," Gizmondo runs the friend group's tabletop game sessions as a permanent DM. He claims it's practice for acting as prince, but like Dez believes that malarky!
Gigi (Gigi): Gigi. Occasionally part of the aforementioned tabletop games, always offputting and vulgar. She seems to have to an interest in studying Dez, as if they're some lab rat. Always picking and prodding with questions Dez isn't sure they want to answer.
Xander Brookes: Dez's only friend from the physical plane, at least at the moment. Though he used to be a lot more rambunctious as a kid, the only trouble he'd ever get in was the result of getting mixed up with Dez's shenanigans and games. He's grown to represent everything isn't, and refuses to be: a goody two-shoes ever obedient to the clunkers that supposedly keep the world turning.
Nadine Ankhor: A rebelious old friend, now resembling nothing of her past self.
