Sai Tasuna

Pronounced "TAH-soo-nah."

Has been hospitalized for nearly a year due to an accident/illness (tbd.) Recently awoke from a six month-long coma.

He takes a bit of refuge in hiding his monster partner from strangers, though he's sad he can't do much else for it, not having enough strength to help it transform.

Sai is first introduced when Sumi and Spindle track down a monster-partner duo, and the signal leads them to his hospital room. He feigns ignorance, eventually persuading them to leave. Still, both are left unconvinced, though Sumi is briefly distracted by his smile. Time passes; crisis strikes. Sumi and Spindle assist Sai in protecting his monster partner and stopping a beast from totally wrecking the hospital. After the incident, though he remains hospitalized for the time being, he officially joins the team.

Over the course of the story, Sai is able to return to school, though he has to repeat a year due to his absence, placing him in the same class as Miss Morose. He used to be in the same year as Freida, who still takes the time to check up on him.
