Rosette

Rosette is a pioneer in the realm of unconventional magic and science. Her radical theories about magic have allowed her to peer into the nature of magical energy and unlock previously unknown potential. She is personally capable of utilizing her internal magical foci to 'blink' around near-instantaneously, and has implemented this discovery into magical technology to develop new and innovative communications and transportation technologies.

Because of the nature of her scientific interests, Rosette is incompatible with the Institution, which, in her opinion, maintains a stranglehold on scientific knowledge and acts as a gatekeeper, buying and selling science rather than using it for the benefit of all people. Out of passion and a healthy dose of spite, Rosette founded her own research organization that openly (and loudly) explores science outside the confines of the Institution's doctrine. Unfortunately, the Institution has made a point to discredit and disparage the works of her organization publicly, and many have come to distrust Rosette and her ideas about magic, considering the realm of unconventional magic a cult-like school of thought. Still, Rosette works to expand knowledge and find new ways to use magic, making all findings public and open, operating via investment rather than by exclusive contract.
