Sedgeclaw is a CanyonClan cat through and through, a proud and loyal warrior who puts her all into protecting and serving her Clan. Tradition doesn't mean much to her, but loyalty certainly does, and loyalty and integrity are by far the most important values in her personal moral code. She isn't gullible, but she herself makes efforts not to lie or tiptoe around issues, and is easily frustrated by more dishonest cats. Hypocrisy, too, makes her temper flare, and though she is deeply dedicated to maintaining peace between the Clans in the wake of the war, she still holds deep bitterness towards BriarClan as a result. Those are the cats that killed her son in cold blood, and they dare to call CanyonClan the monsters? She doesn't want any of the younger generations to have to experience living in a Clan at war, but her temper can still be provoked over such issues. She can be extremely cutting and vitriolic in arguments when she feels she has been wronged. Betrayal of any kind will leave a strong impression on her, and those who lose her trust will likely never have it again. She would follow those she cares for to the ends of the earth, though. She is opinionated, but warm and kind, with a lighthearted competitive streak and perfect willingness to socialize with and encourage her Clanmates. CanyonClan is her home, and she actively works to try to make life better for the cats living in it, whether that means going on extra hunts, fighting tooth and claw to keep others out of harm’s way, or forcibly removing threats from within the Clan itself. Though she is more quick to act and more outspoken than she used to be, her experiences with the war have paradoxically made her more cautious, too, particularly in her interpersonal relationships. She finds it difficult to trust her heart these days, when it comes to giving it to others. If only things had been different.

Born an only child and raised by a single mother, Sedgeclaw found it difficult to fit into CanyonClan in her youth due to having the "wrong build" compared to her Clanmates, and the short tail that many considered a BriarClan trait, though she was half-rogue and not half-Clan. She had to grow into her confidence. As a senior warrior, she and her mate had a single son, who was killed in the first battle he ever participated in during the war. Sedgeclaw and her mate's relationship fell apart after their son's death, and she now mourns him alone.
