CRASH!
Ralph didn't have the nicest introduction to her current life. She'd nabbed a top-tier host, hijacked a research ship with a built-in laboratory, and taken off for a tantalizing little planet with huge uncharted swaths of land just begging to be studied. However, she hadn't realized the ship was so easy to steal because it was badly malfunctioning and in desperate need of repairs. Long before she reached her intended destination, parts of the hull were breached, the engines were failing, and she needed to make an emergency landing on a boring old well-researched planet. The stress of the crash was too much, and upon arrival she found herself hostless and slowly sinking in a swamp.
Luckily, one of the local amphibian species stuck its nose in her wreck, and she found herself a new host that suits her quite nicely, even if she can only squeak and honk. Ralph got to work quickly propping up her ship to make sure she didn't lose the precious lab, and now she spends her days analyzing samples in pure bliss. Her amphibian host allows her to dive deep underwater to nab interesting specimen and gives her camoflauge so she can get much closer to the wildlife before it becomes suspicious. All's well that ends well!
New Friends
It wasn't long before Ralph started to get curious about nearby civilization. A bustling city not too far from her swampy home tempted her, and she found herself wandering the streets in earnest. Citizens were confused but not too concerned - Ralph's host species is fairly intelligent although not quite sapient, so it was like seeing a monkey or a dolphin out and about. Most thought she was a pet because of her clothing. Along the way she met and imprinted on one squirrely lawyer after recognizing he too was infected with a Mignyan, and that led to a whole slew of other compatriots.
Now she's good friends with a few other Mignyans who have beastly hosts and live in the swamps, as well as girl scout who comes to visit and brings all kinds of treats. Ralph considers herself pretty lucky to have found such a welcoming group of other Mignyans! Although she does keep her distance from one in particular...
