Yiruma is a debonair and eloquent mystery writer with a passion for developmental fluff and innocent romance. Many of his friends equate him to a Nicholas Sparks of sorts, however, Yiruma argues that he is merely a hopeless romantic with a love for beautiful words. Yiruma is truly a writer at heart- from a young age, he found solace in the back corners of the small library in his hometown of Ferncombe, admiring the works of Fitzgerald and his idol, Oscar Wilde. He'd come home night after night with stacks of his favorite literature, reading until the very crack of dawn most nights despite needing to rest for school the next day. His English and History teachers adored him, knowing they could always chat with him after classes about their favorite works and motifs of the books they were reading in class together. His English teachers especially loved reading the creative works he'd write for assignments, encouraging him to become an author for young adults, though Yiruma was too shy and insecure about his own writing to go for it. It was until one night he decided to through caution to the wind and post a long-drafted fanfiction he had created for his favorite fandom, and the next morning he was shocked to see the amount of kudos and positive praise already flooding in. He panicked at first, but the amount of support he garnished pushed him to go out of his comfort zone and continue.

He continued to publish works at a slow and methodical pace, wanting nothing more than to make each work of his better than the last, which only increased his reputation as a gifted and inspiring writer, and though his works blew up in popularity, so did he, people desperately trying to figure out his true name and identity. Yiruma, desperate to keep his identity highly guarded secret from the beginning, penned the alias "♔Azu", doing everything in his power to remain anonymous for the sake of his own mental health and protection. Even after he had long graduated from high school and was freshly out of college, he continued to gain popularity, so much so that he began to experience many attempts to doxx him from his online haters and fans alike. It terrified Yiruma to no end that there was a possibility that he could be found out, but luckily for him, a fated successful hack of the author's computer by two technically advanced boys from Grento gave him the protection he needed, the hackers only breaking his firewall to offer their assistance out of love for his work. Currently, Yiruma still lives in Ferncombe, but spends a lot of time with Howle and Cipher, who remain the only two who know of his true identity and intend to keep it as such.
