Ariane is the fiancée of the King, the one who will marry him and become Queen of the country...as soon as the King decides to go on with the marriage. She's very bitter about the fact he's seemingly so flirty with everyone, especially with Nasrin, and just wish he'd man up and marry her already. Isn't in love with him, is jealous for the simple fact she doesn't want to feel second-best, like she isn't beautiful/clever/rich/whatever enough; in fact, Ariane has a quite proud and arrogant attitude, even if she always is polite and good-mannered. Dislikes having tons of servants around, preferring the aid of only a few, and only when really necessary.
