Talmai's education growing up was entirely in service to this goal: she became well versed in elocution, social graces, and--of course--history. She often accompanied her parents to parties and political events, and when she came of age, she took over as primary caretaker and guide of the Onyx Repository. The Onyx Repository--located in Apsthal--is both a museum and public library that Talmai's family founded and owns. These days, Talmai spends much of her time there, and she loves to give tours to visitors when she has the spare time.

When she's not working in the Repository or accompanying her parents for their next public appearance, she likes to spend her time pursuing her own course of studies--she has a particular interest in botany--and spending time with her little brother, Lior. Lior was not as blessed as she and often gets treated as an afterthought by their parents, so Talmai tries to make it up to him by being the best big sister she can be. She has dreams of traveling the world someday, but deep down, she knows she'll probably never get the opportunity.

For the most part, Talmai is a bright and friendly person. She knows how important she is as a symbol to her fellow caelians, so she's always trying to live up to that standard, but in reality, she's not as confident as she seems. She tends to worry often, and she's prone to self-conscious anxiety if pushed outside her comfort zone. But in it, she's studious, and she loves to share what she's learned with others. She's insatiably curious, to the point of occasional risk-taking, and she's very honest and earnest.
