Vance

Vance is a were-creature with a form that is purple and weasel-like. Vance is terrified of fire, he hates it with every ounce of his being and will fight anyone who has it. When Vance is in a life threatening situation he tends to turn to stone, but he cannot choose when to turn back and this often results in much more time passing then he wanted. Vance usually wears a golden earring on his left ear, it was given to him by Kayda. He also has a burn on his left shoulder from a fight with Asher.

Basic backstory: 

Vance was found at a young age by a little boy who mistook him for a wild animal, this little boy soon became Vance's friend and they enjoyed playing and hanging out together, Vance practically became a new member of the family, but sadly he was too young to transform and in his animal form, he could not communicate to the boy, so he often became frustrated by his inability to talk.  One day when Vance was walking through the forest by the boy’s home, a dragon found him and attempted to catch him, Vance, fearing for his life, ran but approached a cliff edge that he couldnt jump from.  It was then that he discovered that he could turn to stone. His earth magic sensed his fear and panic, and believing him to be about to die, it encased him in stone. Many many years passed after that, and Vance finally broke out of his stone prison to find that the forest was on fire and that his friend was gone, and their house was abandoned.  He became overwhelmed with sadness and fear and passed out, when he woke up, it was the first time that he had ever transformed into a human form.  In this world, Traveia, it is very dangerous to have strong negative emotions because there are certain parasites which are attracted to and feed on these emotions.  Vance, later, gets taken over by one of these such parasites in his animal form, and he goes on a rampage, terrorizing travelers and people who pass through his forest. Especially anything that has to do with fire. Eventually my other characters Asher and Ian are sent on a mission to find out what is causing these animal attacks, and they come across Vance when he attacks them. Vance and Asher have a huge fight and Vance gets badly burnt in it (as one of Asher's strongest abilities is to control fire). The parasite leave Vance, but more begin to arrive because he has so much anger and resentment.  Asher and Ian grab Vance and run, until they come across a patch of fungi known as “Celestia’s blessing” which repels these parasites. Asher and Ian then made a call to Kayda who brought an earring made with gold (which also repels parasites) so that he can be safe from parasites in the future. And that’s how Vance got his earring. 

He also, does not like Asher at all, and very much resents him for the burn, even though it had kind of been necessary to get rid of the parasite. With both the burn that he got and after witnessing his home be burnt to the ground, he has a large amount of fear and hatred towards fire. He will not hesitate to attack anyone who attempts to use or uses fire in any way He doesnt really stay in contact with people either but occasionally Kayda or Ian will visit him in his forest so that he isnt too lonely.
