A young girl who is travelling the world with her patron Talia seeking a method to bring someone very important to her back from the dead. Sophia grew up as part of a close-knit trio in an orphanage. Sadly, the group was torn apart when one of the girls elected to break out and the other remaining girl, Sophia's best friend Ingrid, was adopted by an enigmatic couple. Through a series of mishaps, a slightly older Sophia eventually chanced upon the shocking discovery that Ingrid and her family had perished in a mysterious accident several years ago. Disillusioned, Sophia swore an oath to bring Ingrid back from the dead- no matter what the cost.
Cold and aloof, Sophia tries to keep all she meets at arm's length in order to protect herself from getting hurt again. However, she is someone who often ends up caring deeply about other people despite her best efforts to remain emotionally detached, and will fight tooth and nail to protect the ones she has come to love. Sophia frequently blames herself for failing to keep her two childhood friends safe, believing that the only way to perform penance is to not repeat the same mistake again.
- Before she ran away from the orphanage in search of Ingrid, Sophia had been a seamstress in training.
- Sophia’s culinary skills are almost non-existent. She specialises in “chopping things up into chunks and then putting the chunks into a pot.”
- Although she usually wears black for the sake of convenience while on the road, Sophia actually likes clothes in light, pastel colours.

- Talia takes on the form of an abnormally large crow with a white patch on one wing when she is travelling with Sophia.

Sophia and Talia share a close, sibling-like relationship despite the stark difference in power and status between them. Talia is the only being that Sophia feels comfortable enough to speak frankly to, and although the two of them bicker constantly Sophia has bonded somewhat with Talia over the course of her journey. As such, Sophia has since come to see her as a precious travel companion.
Friend
Yu Die
Sophia and Yu Die first met when they ended up together in a search party for a missing scholar from a magical academy. Thanks to Yu Die's optimistic and cheerful personality Sophia warmed up to her rapidly, soon discovering that they were pursuing similar goals. Both Sophia and Yu Die are currently travelling across Tianxia with their friend Ke Xing on a quest to rescue their kidnapped party member.

Ingrid
Ingrid is Sophia's dearest friend and the only reason why she had been able to endure her dreary existence in the orphanage. Timid but tenderhearted, Ingrid acted as the big sister to her two friends, and was relatively popular with the other children. After learning of her untimely demise, Sophia wishes to bring Ingrid back in order to show her a kinder world.
