Braxel is one of those people who knew from a young age that she was destined for greatness. Left lususless an early age, Braxel knew that a lone feral at the bottom of the deep sea wouldn't get anywhere in life, so she kept herself moving, training, alive. Friendless but fierce, Braxel made sure that anyone she came across knew she would be willing to fight to stay alive. She would eventually trespass on the estate of the firstborn Pinkblood and heir to the throne of Alternia, Woviey Bhakqi, but the two of them unexpectedly hit it off and have been lifelong close friends ever since.
Braxel is the youngest and last remaining of the original members of 'Team Alpha', a squadron directly under the command of Woviey that carries out orders directly from the throne. While originally meant to support him in a time of political uncertainty, the team has since evolved to be a well-rounded team that can do anything and everything necessary to protect the throne's hold on the planet. Despite being there the longest, Braxel isn't the current leader of Alpha, although she knows Woviey well enough to also know exactly why she isn't. Doesn't mean she can't be huffy about it to him, though!
Character
Braxel's been a survivor from day one. Her lusus largely didn't care about the fact that it had recieved a new charge if it couldn't deliver a substantial increase in food, so Braxel was left largely to fend for herself. It just so happened that one of the greatest tests of strength lay right next door, an opportunity ripe for the taking. It turned out well; Braxel routinely says that "picking a fight with Woviey was the best decision I ever made!"
Braxel's been entrenched in fighting for the Alternian cause for far longer than any of her other peers. None of them know the history of the situation like she does, because she helped to shape it behind the scenes. She's very loyal to the military and Alpha, but knows that she'd give everything up if Woviey wanted her to. He's her reason for doing everything; without him, she loses her purpose. In fact, Braxel is sometimes known for doing things Woviey didn't ask for, up to and including crossing the line into punishment territory. What can she say; she's committed!
Abilities
FERAL LITTLE MURDER CHILD: Braxel's main way of proving her strength has always been head-on in an all-out brawl. It's part of the reason she loves Rounds so much- there's nothing between her and beating up the person on the opposite side of the ring. While she's talented with just her natural weapons (and has won Rounds barehanded!), Braxel excells with the use of weapons of all sorts. She likes the stabby ones the best, but she's a natural sharpshoot too and one hell of a deadeye.
TECH GUY: Braxel learned most of her tech knowledge from Ahzilk, the 'tech guy' and 'guy in the chair' before her. His experience and knowledge have given braxel a unique set of skills when it comes to hacking or working with tech; although she may not have the same advantages as a goldblood with psionics might have, her unique perspective on problem-solving computer issues means that she can usually iron out most tech bugs before the team gets too concerned.
Notes
- Braxel isn't blind under the eyepatch and can see right through it; she uses it to fool enemies into attacking that side specifically.
- Braxel is the only member of the military that has regular sparring rights with Woviey.
- She thinks that Woviey should be on the throne and may or may not quietly be planning a possible coup in the background.
- All of Braxel's excess 'blush' on her fins and gills flouresces under UV light.
- Braxel and Woviey designed the Alpha logo together one day on the floor of Woviey's hive.
Relationships
Woviey Bhakqi [ Bestie Beloved ]
Woviey and Braxel have been thick as theives from day one. They parry offof each other like no one else can, and Braxel knows Woviey would go to the ends of the earth for her if he needed to.
Sirixe Kresik [ Boss Bro ]
Braxel has a very good and banterous relationship with her boss; she gets to poke fun at him and is also the only one on Alpha who gets to consistently see Sirixe smile. It's a sweet deal!
Axiose Kyrinn [ Childhood Nuisance ]
Braxel and Axiose met when he challenged her to a fight on the beach and promptly lost. They've been helping each other out ever since; Braxel's the reason Axiose has his current job in the first place.
