ѕυммary:: Her quirk is the ability to control oxygen, so she can technically steal the air right from your lungs or help you breath under water. but she has to keep it a secret due to a freak accident when she was a child.
Her official power is that she can manipulate fire as long as she has a source. (hence the lighter she is often seen with) but she actually gives the fire more oxygen and manipulates a path for the fire to follow. Her hero name is Hot Breath, that references her power to control oxygen while still covers up for it and fits with her fire cover.
Mitzy was first miss diagnosed with the ability to manipulate fire like her father because that was the first thing she did with her power. And because she was young she also believed that was her power. But later she accidentally killed her parents with her quirk. she stopped them from breathing. The government did not know what had happened and didn't believe Mitzy when she said it was her fault. The police thought she was covering up for her brother who where on his way to become top hero in their home country. Her brother has frost powers, and the police believed he somehow froze their lungs. The police thought Mitzy suffered from survivors guilt.
Her brother became a wanted criminal, and it is said that he is hunting down Mitzy to kill her. Mitzy believes it because she things her brother wants to take revenge for killing their parents and ruining his promising career. While officials believes it's because he wants to "finish the job" and kill his sister as well.
So she is under a witness protection program.
