Tanzanite has always been (and still is) my main gemsona.
At first she was a singular gem (2016, 2017), but then in 2018 Tanzanite got a major redesign. The result of that redesign is... what she is now.
She's a semi-permafusion of Kunzite and Sapphire. They're friends that helped each other with each other's problems through fusion for thousands of years.
Her voice actress would probably be Veela (Victoria Burnett).
Tanzanite has always been a pretty childish and a fairly weird fusion. She is fond of ice cream, she talks to herself sometimes, makes weird sounds somehow...
But in the near future, some gem is going to drastically change Tanzanite. And her components, of course.

- Tanzanite was the first gemsona I've ever made. Take the word "gemsona" literally here.
- Initially, fusion Tanzanite was planned to be a "walking stereotype" kinda character, the kinda character that was just about everything people always loved in the SU fandom. Later she kinda became her own thing, though.
- At first, Tanzanite was a singular gem, a citizen of some Alternative Homeworld of sorts. That can be shown in the insignia her very first design has. She was also an ally of a group of gems I had around that time, SGs.
- In one of the earliest Tanzanite's designs, Tanzanite was supposed to have one of her feet levitate separately from her body. In the end, the idea was scrapped.
- The marks on a corrupted left arm were based off many birthmarks I have on my left arm.
- Tanzanite's weird hairstyle is supposed to represent Tanzanite's messy and somewhat wavy hair, the kinda hairstyle I have.
- The whole thing of Tanzanite being fond of ice cream came from the fact that Tanzanite gave PocketSok ice cream vibes.
- The name of Tanzanite's Cotton Candy form, Parfait Tanzanite, is based on the possible joke of sorts that SU did. It's possible that CCG doesn't only stand for Cotton Candy Garnet, it also stands for Color Change Garnet, a variety of Garnet that CCG possibly represents. And so, following that logic, PT doesn't only stand for Parfait Tanzanite, it also stands for Pleochroic Tanzanite, the kind of Tanzanite PT definitely represents.
- When I've been recoloring Parfait Tanzanite in 2020 – 2021, I've been trying to find the right dark blue color for PT's palette for 7 months.
- Two first regenerations of Tanzanite are based on Garnet's first two regenerations' possible color logic.
- Tanzanite's fourth regeneration was the hardest one to come up with. It's evidenced by the fact that there were at least two earlier versions of that regeneration. With that being said, her fourth regeneration was fully established in 2021, meaning it was in the works for two years.
- In some 2019 – 2020 art Tanzanite can be seen wearing purple lipstick. But eventually, the idea was scrapped because of the lipstick being out-of-place and fairly motiveless.
