Sayama Nakamura

Sayama was raised with dedicated love and care. When her interests started to lean towards music, her parents encouraged it. She went to singing lessons, dance lessons, anything her heart desired--- so long as she kept up on top of school work and helped around the house. She had a small group of singer friends with her too. Madeline, a snippy little kid with too much freedom and not enough work to do… and Spring, a reserved pushover who just wanted to make his parents happy. The three of them were often the spotlight trio in school or other performances.

This kind of childhood gave her the incredible confidence to try entering the idol industry at 14. She wasn't ready for how cut throat the judges would be.. She broke down crying on the stage and had to be escorted out by one of the staff.

What would be forever unknown to her was Madeline rigging that performance with her parents' assistance so that her work would shine brighter. Her parents had bribed the judges, and Madeline had convinced Sayama to stay up practicing to leave her more tired and vulnerable to the harsh judgment.

For the longest time she was heartbroken about it. If she couldn't take the criticism then how was she going to put all her work to use? Madeline and Spring were there for her to fall back on, Spring much more sympathetic than Madeline. Madeline tried to convince Sayama to pursue something else, saying this industry was just too cutthroat for people like her.

Madeline sabotages Springs debut as well, though her tampering was physical this time. She’d cut one of the stage lights before the performance- though she’d only intended to scare the idol-to-be. Instead it fell directly on top of them. Spring didn’t stand a chance and passed away due to the head injuries that were sustained from the impact.

This was enough to push Sayama into writing a song to cope; it ended up being a very successful one. Enough so that she was pushed back into classes and back into her stage. She eventually cut Madeline out of her life after her toxicity became too much, and onto her second debut she went. She'd get it right this time… yeah?

Incorrect. Once again her emotions got the best of her, she broke down sobbing on live television and rushing from the stage. There really was no hope for her. Just as she was ready to finally give up, sobbing in the break room of that building.. She met Sumiko. Sumiko was another failed idol who simply didn’t make the cut. The two found comfort in one another's company and ended up moving in together and forming a duo.

Sayama was approached by a modeling agency when she couldn’t do her idol work- it’s not at all the line of work she’d been hoping for… but it was enough to make rent and practice work. For now, she’d just have to accept it; though her work does leave her open to much more criticism on whether she belongs in an idol world or not. With Sumiko by her side though, she’s going to keep her eyes open for any opportunity she can. She’s desperate to be an idol- to be adored for her talent and not her body.
