Other then being extremely smart and observant, Niven is not always a joy to become friends with. He tends to act to get things he wants and will slowly (or quickly) begin to show his true colours if he doesn't get exactly what he thinks he deserves. Niven almost never tells anybody anything personal other then his name and thinks about most things as strictly business and will play it off that way. Even though he can be hard to deal with he is willing to do his share or extra so he can be comfortable in a group; showing his worth is important to him. Hes really not out to play games.
Niven can see through very people well; lies and social situations is where he excels. Finding out about others is interesting to him and proving them wrong gives him a sense of joy. Although he can be manipulative by using others emotions against themselves, he can get possessive and be protective to things he thinks is worth his time. Almost all his moves have been predicted and thought over many times; its very hard to surprise him.
If you can break Nivens outer shell he can be kind and heartfelt, but in a strict kinda way. He only can show his affection by doing things for the other and/or sometimes teasing them if he feels safe in his situation.
Niven was a single child in his family and soon only had his father there with him through when the apocalypse got rougher and rougher. His father was just as strict as Niven is now and taught Niven everything about survival that he could tell him; his father, being well prepared for something like this due to being ridden with paranoia. After his fathers paranoia spiked for the worst, he had committed suicide when Niven was 24, leaving Niven to go and travel on his own.
Niven grieved over his fathers death, though Niven had always expected he would do this; he knew he couldn't waste his life sitting around like his father. He now travels from group to group, satisfying his own needs and leaving when he wants to.

- Two scars on his face from an animal attack and one on his eyebrow from a guy attempting to rob him.
- Blue eyes got brighter from the toxins in the air.
- Pierced himself with clean old piercing needles he found in a run down tattoo/piercing shop; also has two tongue piercings.
- The watch his from his father, it doesn't work but he keeps it for family sake; fathers name is carved into the back.
- His sight is not the best and often squints.
- Often has a hard time sleeping and always has dark circles under his eyes.
