Naomi (Spearmint)

 "Irvine Smiles' new Spearmint Toothpaste will keep even a mouthburger feeling minty fresh! ...My parents made me say that." 

Naomi thought that becoming a magical girl would fix her klutzy tendencies, but... not so much. Alas, apparently magic can only enhance your abilities so far. 

Naomi is thankful for her teammate and best friend Aofie having experience picking up her slack. She's even more thankful for not one, but TWO new team members. Maybe things will work out okay, after all! And maybe Naomi can take a few levels in badass on the side to keep up with the rest of her team... and help her stick up for herself more, in general.

TRIVIA/DESIGN NOTES

• Naomi started out as a character from a dream. She was the first of my Sleepless Domain characters, and went through a few iterations before I settled on the design in the ref sheet (two years later, lol)
• She has roller blades because I think it's fun. I liked it in Cardcaptor Sakura and I liked it in Alien 9 and I like it forever
• Her title is one word, against the typical format of two words. Tl;dr I do what I want, but I do have other reasons: 
  • "Spearmint" looks weird to me split in two (eg Spear Mint), and equally weird with a second word tacked on before or after, even if it sounded cool out loud. So, just "Spearmint". 
  • In-universe justification #1: Some teens just wanna break the mold and do their own thing. 
  • In-universe justification #2: It helps Naomi distinguish herself a bit from her sisters, who make up Team Mint.
