About

First child of Ishizu and the Thief King (Akefia), Shukura was strongly influenced by her father growing up, as well as the loss of her twin brother. Aiming to nothing else than making her family happy, Kura may look carefree and having fun, always ready to crack a joke, but she's actually very responsible and determined, always keeping the word given. "Inheriting" her father's mission to avenge the deceased ancestors, she also carries on a personal desire to find a forbidden book which is said to have spells to bring back the dead, in order to bring back her twin brother. Needless to say, she will clash with Sekhmet quite a few times, becoming her main enemy.

Her "Princess of Thieves" alias is Pelkha-Bast (meaning “belonging to glory” + “motion, impulse” - also, Bastet is the goddess of home/protection, associated with the moon and counterpart to Sekhmet, the destructive sun)

◄[Story] ►

►►►Ancient Egypt 1 (AU - Akefia has been defeated the first time, Atem is alive; main) *in this AU every character and their counterpart/s are present, usually as siblings; for example, the Thief King, Yami Bakura and Ryou all exist, as brothers, and are present also characters like Mai and Duke. Tea and Teana (appeared in Forbidden Memories) are both there, as twins.

Growing up with his father’s stories about the horrible deeds of the Royals and losing her twin brother during the celebration for the Pharaoh’s newborn first child, it was only natural for Shukura to come to loathe the Royal family as well, and she made it her life goal to help her father in his revenge, eventually carrying it on her own if necessary.

Soothed by her mother’s gentle ways, she came to be a compassionate individual though, and even if she picked up her father’s “job” as thief, she only steals from the rich and their tombs, keeps little for herself and gives most to the poor, snickering about the Pharaoh not being able to do it himself.

Her mother’s sensibility and arcane abilities coupled with his father’s bond with the spirits, nurtured by uncle Ryou’s skill of contacting the dead, made for a dangerous combo and Shukura is extremely sensible to spirits and whatnot. Ever since a young age she could be found talking to people’s Ka (her favorite being Diabound) and most importantly, the spirit of her deceased brother. As soon as she could she begged her father to bring her with him during his trips to Kul Elna, and despite the initial chaos and violent ways of the spirits, they eventually recognized her as their kin and instaured a good relationship; Kura often visits the village to this day, and treats the spirits as if they were living family. This only reinforced her will to help his father avenging them, and not even her mother’s pleas can convince her.

She has a strange relationship with the Gods, partially loathing them for the ill fate they bestowed upon her family, and partially holding a deep respect mixed with fear for them. Even if she can say some spiteful things during particularly hard moments, she’s always careful to be respectful and sometimes even asks them for help or guidance.

After making herself a name as Pelkha-Bast, the Princess of Thieves, Shukura thought to have enough experience to finally take on her life-long wish to help her father taking revenge on the Pharaoh. Her first “important mission” was infiltrating the tomb of late Priest Aknadin to rob the Millennium Eye before it could find its next Priest (the celebration would have been the next day); mainly because like her father, she wanted to destroy the Millennium Items to free the remains of souls inside them corrupted by power, and also because she first wanted to see if it could grant sight to her blind younger brother, Akhek. While robbing the tomb she also came across the Millennium Spellbook, and Princess Sekhmet who was looking for said book.

(TBA)

►►Modern (canon + AU) In the modern canon storyline, Shukura doesn't exist.

For a modern AU in which she's born in that timeline, see extra tab.

►Ancient Egypt 2 (canon - Atem has been sealed in the Puzzle) Without her mother, Shukura as a Ripshipping fankid doesn't exist; however, she's still present as a random character who opposes Sekhmet, albeit for different reasons than her "main" storyline.

Trivia

  • gives nicknames to everyone
  • is a fast talker
  • her hair are actually very soft and fluffy, but since she doesn’t bother taking care of them (or even cutting them at least at the same length) they’re always wild and unkempt.
  • is very superstitious, which is partly why she firmly believes the dead beloved must be avenged (it was a strong belief in ancient egypt). Is always careful not to go against such beliefs, getting ridiculed by close ones at times for how through she is with that.
