Little brother of Tyler (By like 10% of DNA)
Kage was born from an experiment. Some scientists were testing how much they could do and it was a lot. They used multiple different DNA's to create Kage. Growing up, Kage's horns grew and he started acting strangely around the age of 6, usually disappearing for a long time, making the scientists panic. They'd find Kage in random places around the lab and no matter what they did, they couldn't keep him still. Kage was really friendly and the scientists soon realized he was just playing pranks on them rather than doing something malicious.
Eventually the lead scientist who created Kage took it upon herself to figure out what was going on and what she found was Kage succumbing into the shadows. At the age of 10, Kage transformed into a humanoid creature for the first time. He was taught all the basics any human child would be taught. Kage loved the lab as it was the only home he knew but as he grew, he started getting a bad feeling and otherwise just didn't like being there much anymore. He started going outside into the forest a lot to just have freedom but he always came back.
Kage was eventually introduced to Tyler, who seemed to have been suffering for a while now. While Tyler was scared of everyone and everything, Kage loved it all. Tyler clung to Kage immediately and the two became friends. Kage noticed how unhappy Tyler was at the lab and with Kage's shadow morphing abilities, transported Tyler outside. Tyler saw the endless forest and basically begged to not be left alone, which Kage couldn't disagree on. The two then ran away together as far away from the lab as possible.
