Acanthus [tbrn] was the name of the now deceased cat. His body is functionally dead, however his soul became fused to the creature possessing his body.
the apparent expression on his bodies face is merely cosmetic, his face cannot change expressions and his 'tears' are just excess ectoplasm seeping out of his eyes.
Tiamat is the name of the monster that hides in his body, and wears it like a costume.
Tiamat uses its cat disguise to lure victims before revealing its true form, though Acanthus has occasionally succeeded in overpowering it enough to allow prey to escape.
