Important Relationships:

Alibi (Partner/mate): In the beginning, the two rubasyns were friends– best friends. They were a pair of bouncy adventurers, always exploring their surroundings in search of “lost relics” as they put it. Bellus had to drag the introverted Abili out half of the time but nonetheless he enjoyed their expeditions when it came to it. Unfortunately, their friendship came to an abrupt halt after Abili had to move. They wouldn't see each other again until their adulthood. The two had changed, obviously, yet their friendship picked up right where it left off. The pair embarked on real journeys into the unknowns of Ptitheros, instead of being confined to their imaginations. They admittedly grew closer through their new expedition; closer than ever thought. Repressed emotions kept Bellus at bay for awhile until he simply couldn’t hold them back any longer. When a confession slipped out: the rubasyn expected rejection and perhaps a shattered bond. However, when faced with shared feelings… joy would be an understatement to what he felt. The pair, now a couple, continue their explorations til’ this day.

Festina Rimor (Mother): Bellus never knew his mother too well. She vanished shortly after his birth, presumed dead after weeks without any luck finding her. His father never gave up hope though, that’s why he constantly shared stories about her to the young Bellus. He filled his mind with a picture of his lost mother: a fearless woman that looked death straight in the eyes and smirked. From what his father told him, they were both adventurers who wanted to leave their mark in history, His father would always joke about how much more fiercer she was than him. “She could come face-to-face with a basilisk and not even flinch, while I'd be screaming to the cardinals for help,” his father would say with a laugh. With these memories of her now implanted in his mind, he made it his life-long goal to find her. He might be naive for believing that she’s still alive after all these years. However, if there’s one trait he acquired from his father: it would be his unwillingness to lose hope.

Votum Rimor (Father): If it wasn't for Bellus’s father, he probably would've never became an archaeologist. His father isn’t one; but he’s a historian. He also has a knack for storytelling. So it’s no coincidence Bellus discovered his passion for history at an early age. His father exposed his collection of historic scrolls to tell the story of Ptitheros to the young Bellus. He used his entire body to illustrate the events that shaped Ptitheros, his voice echoing like a bell in a cathedral every night. He also told the legacies of the Rimor family, especially his grandfather. The late Rimor was an archaeologist who made several pinnacle discoveries during his prime. With each tale spun towards Bellus, he became more and more captivated by history. His thirst for the lost histories of Ptitheros fueled his juvenile adventures with his friend Alibi. His father only watched with a wide smile painted on his face. As time went on, Bellus became the one telling his father stories. The two still see each other regularly in present day, his father always eager to hear about his son's adventures.

Lox Finitor (Uncle): It’s unfortunate most of Bellus’s family has passed on or disappeared. He does still have his father, but there’s also someone else: his uncle Finitor. He’s only spoken to him a handful of times yet during each exchange they had, Bellus couldn’t help his fascination with him. His uncle isn’t a pursuer of lost history nor interested in it. Instead, he’s a scientific man who chases after the limitless secrets within the flora of Ptitheros. The rubasyn never appears to lack drive for his goal either, which attracted a young Bellus instantly. He’s also more on the… unhinged side. Not to a dangerous extent, just a strange individual to be around. He’ll rant on and on about the properties of pollos or the nutritional density of the spiral nut. He’s practically obsessed with flora. Nonetheless, Bellus admires his passion. He wants to visit him again if possible, his curiosity about what his uncle has uncovered nowadays immense.

Pravum (Enemy/rival): Bellus isn’t a hateful creature. He doesn’t wish harm upon anyone, even those that despise him. However, he makes one expectation: Pravum. This rubasyn has been nothing more than a parasite to him and his family for decades. He’s stolen credit for countless historical findings from his father alongside himself. Either using threats or actual violence to ensure there isn’t any retaliation against him. To make matters worse: he’s quite the wealthy rubasyn too. Which means he has an abundance of resources to ruin the lives of those who oppose his greed. Fortunately, Bellus has always gained the upper hand when he tries those tactics on him. Doesn’t mean he has won every battle though. Pravum has his way of slithering to the victory line in any way he can. Bellus doesn’t let this get to him, for the simple fact that he plans on exposing Pravum in the long run. His biggest desire to be able to watch that constant smirk that rubasyn has on slip into a scowl of defeat. For now, the two clash whenever they’re after the same buried knowledge.

Personality:

Bellus Rimor’s a man whose passions guide him while he soars into the valleys of the unknown. His conviction to uncover the lost history of his world nearly unbreakable.. Either way, his ambitious nature certainly remains his most prominent trait. Unfortunately, it does prove to be impeding at times. Bellus does have the habit of hurling himself at his problems like a cannonball. Why think of a tedious plan when one can just make it up as they go? This mindset usually ends with Bellus acquiring new bruises… or scars. Yet it will never affect his resilience. He’s not a fearless man, he will admit to that. However, he’ll still press on without any hesitation. Giving up simply isn’t an option for him, even when it sometimes should be. This Results in courage that can be either a savior or a hindrance. He’ll always want to choose the morally right options when faced with difficult decisions. It’s admirable, but costly if it turns out to be a hoax. When it comes to the rubasyn around others, he’s quite the charismatic fellow. He emits this aura of warmth that welcomes anyone. He’ll tell jokes or stories and will always attempt to make time to converse. He takes his friendships seriously, almost too seriously. Which makes it easy for certain “friends'' to manipulate him. He’s not a gullible fool but he can’t detect betrayal all too well. Entrusting his friends to treat him like he treats them: valued people. This open mindedness does spread to his worldviews as well. He’s a firm believer in following whatever dreams one might have, no matter how ridiculous they sound. He sees these dreams as that person’s calling; their destiny. They shouldn't waste away doing minuet tasks that bring only emptiness instead of fulfillment. It’s a view rooted in naivety yet there’s a stockpile of negativity already going around in his mind. Bellus respects life immensely even if he does tend to rush straight forward into danger.

Background:

The beginning of Bellus’s life started with celebration. The Rimor family always cherished the birth of a new member, Bellus wasn’t any different. His parents showed off the fluffy newborn with unmatched esthausim. His mother stared into his fragile eyes with a warm glare. He blinked back up at her before he placed his paw gently against her snout. Content filled his body for the first-time in that moment. His father then took him into his arms to examine his son with glee. Bellus, already packed with curiosity, removed his fathers glasses to… nibble on them. Through intense research: he discovered glasses didn’t taste good. The years that followed Bellus had him exploring this new world. He cunningly escaped his parents' supervision to embark on bountiful yet brief journeys into his backyard. His father always scolded him but his mother simply laughed. Her laughter never failed to make him feel accomplished in his “expeditions''. Unfortunately, her laughter disappeared. She vanished after a scheduled expedition to both his and his father's despair . The search for her went on for months yet nothing came from it. The young Bellus never succumbed to grief though, nor did his father. The two of them truly believed she would come home one day.

As the years came and went, his father grew hopeless. However, he didn’t fall into depression since he confided to his son by telling him stories. Stories of his mother, his late grandparents, and of Ptitheros itself. With each tale, Bellus became more and more addicted to history. This led him to meet someone as well: another young rubasyn by the name of Abili. The always adventurous Bellus found him engrossed in a book one day; a history book. Bellus actually scared the poor joey when he hopped right in front of him to say hello. Luckily, Bellus showed his friendliness immediately which calmed him down. Soon enough, the pair became an inseparable duo. The rubasyns jumped around constantly to explore whatever location they deemed of “archaeological importance”. Even when the location itself fell into the category of private property. Most of these private estates belonged to one person though: Pravum. His father’s face contorted every time he brought up that rubasyn. clearly he wanted to say fowl things about him but he restrained himself from doing so. He also had hints of fear deep within him when he spoke about Pravum’s threats against their family. This made Bellus want to seek revenge against him. So, one particular night, Bellus (with the aid of Abili) broke into one of his “renowned museums''. He didn’t have a plan per say: he just wanted to see what he could uncover. His actions soon slipped into the view of Pravum himself. The rubasyn taunted his failed attempt to a point Bellus retaliated with a kick. Enraged by the attack, Pravum threw him against a bookshelf. Which caused a heavy artifact on top to fall down directly onto Bellus’s left ear ribbon; leaving it mangled. Pravum then grabbed him by the collar, tearing the ribbon off. He insulted him several times before he tossed him back outside into the cold. Defeated, Bellus returned home to find his father a worried mess. He expressed his disappointment yet didn't scold him for long, instead, he grew a soft smile. He then surprised Bellus with a valued heirloom: his grandfather's hat. “Historians only keep track of history; you’re going to make it,” he said to him. These words ensnared Bellus, inflicting him with a newfound drive in his life. One that hasn’t lost.

The next chapter of Bellus’s life went by fast. Abili, his best friend, moved away shortly after their encounter with Pravum. It left Bellus with a hole in his life that time could barely heal. The rubasyn distracted himself with school in the meantime. Soon enough, he enrolled into an intermediary school under his fathers guidance. He found most subjects, besides history, to be like a ball and chain on his ankle. Especially mathematics, it made him miss Abili since he always helped him with it. When he finished his time there, he finally began to pursue his dream career: archaeology. Not many colleges specialized in that particular field so he had to do some digging. When he asked his father, he told him about a reserved university within Steam City. His parents actually met there too, so it only seemed like the right choice. After he applied, he received a letter of acceptance shortly afterwards. He said his goodbyes to his father before he ventured off into the massive industrial city. College definitely stirred up his life in a fantastical manner. Since archaeology involved the exploration of history, he found himself moving around a lot. His class traveled to several different locations in Ptitheros: Tucruitora, Wyndgale, Braeyc, Psollo, everywhere. He learned about affiliations, cultures, practices, region history, and much more. His mind almost exploded with how much knowledge he obtained. One might find that overwhelming but Bellus honestly found himself craving more. He talked to locals daily about their beliefs, their history, and what they thought about Ptitheros. It expanded his outlook tremendously, needless to say. He also had the opportunity to explore archaeology hot zones. The competition of his career soon became evident when he stepped into these locations. Fortunately, Bellus always liked a challenge. He soon stood out among his peers for his numerous discoveries when on these expeditions. He even began to acquire a fair bit of notoriety in the archaeology world. Which turned him into a celebrity of sorts back in Nox. Eventually though, his time in college came to an end.

After graduation, he completely dedicated himself to his work. His status made it easy for him to find information too. The eager rubasyn usually hired to uncover priceless artifacts across Ptitheros. He had one condition though: the item in question had to be put into a museum for the public. He had a personal vendetta against private collections that made history exclusive to those with wealth. This decision didn’t affect his fame, however, it did attract attention from an old foe: Pravum. The now old rubasyn saw Bellus as a new nuniscne to deal with. Bellus wasn't a child anymore either, which meant he saw Pravum’s brutality up close. They often battled since their interests almost always clashed together. Pravum had resources on his side but Bellus had cunning intuition. He also had a partner: Abili. The two met again shortly after Bellus embarked on his first independent expedition. They rekindled their friendship yet something else also bloomed between them. As they continued their journeys together, the duo soon became a couple. Nowadays, Bellus continues his frequent journeys around Ptitheros. Usually he’s accompanied by Abili but once in awhile he does solo ventures as well. In his downtime, he has another profession: teaching. Quite the change from plunging into ancient tombs yet he wanted to share his passion. The rubasyn now gives memorable lectures at his old university. He has a comfy life but adventure always calls to him.

Extra information/trivia:

Bellus is iconic for his looks but he’s also known for a weapon he carries: his whip. Yes, the rubasyn learned how to use a whip during his years in college. He’s efficient with it too, so one better hope they never end up at the other end of it. Besides combat, he also uses it to traverse deadly terrain or potential traps in his way.
