Lynx was the first tiefling born to his tribe. Not knowing what a goblin is, the tribe treated him with extreme prejudice, thinking him cursed. On some level, they were completely right, however they did not know that the tiefling curse is mostly harmless to anyone around him. All his life Lynx has been a pariah, the tribe wouldn't even bother to give him a name. His days would be spent away from the tribe, searching around ruins to find shinies, shinies he could hopefully trade for food back in the village. When he couldn't find shinies, he would have to forage for food. That would all change when he met the tribe chieftain's sister, she was the only goblin in the town. A druid that could commune with the stars, she didn't care for much of the things the tribe held high. They made quick friends and she ended up giving him a name, it felt weird to not know what to call her friend. She even ended up convincing the tribe to treat him like he was garbage all the time and give him a chance to actually be a part of the community, his life was finally looking good.

His aptitude for being able to navigate ruins actually came in real handy, he could find shinies and detect traps no other goblin could. Finally a part of the tribe, he was feeling content...until he went diving through the wrong ruins. There he found a sword with a giant ember implanted to its hilt and the symbol of a rose carved onto an insignia elegantly. He could surely sell this one for a lot to some of the humies, so he grabbed it without thinking. Instantly he could hear a voice screaming in his head, telling him how he wants someone named "Strahd" dead. How he has to reclaim his honor in the eyes of someone named "Soth". The sword felt like fire in his hands, every moment more he held onto it the more his mind would fill with images of demons, and hellscapes. Before long, somehow, he knew how to communicate with and even summon demons, his tail was now capable of acidic attacks he never knew was possible and the sword led his hands when he fought, allowing him to fight like he never thought he would be able to. His first few nights with the sword was just an endless blur of fighting, wolves, undead, demons, the sword would not let him spend much time without killing something or moving towards a target location. Before Lynx had control of his actions again it had been 3 days and he was standing in some weird ruins, in front of an even weirder stone altar. The sword moved on its own again, making Lynx stand on the altar. Lynx tried to resist but the sword's influence was too strong, as he stepped on the altar the zig zag pattern on the sword opened up with a horrible, metallic screech. Pure darkness started bubbling out of the steel maw of the sword until it covered Lynx completely, he could feel his body moving through the darkness, like floating in a sea of molasses...to where the darkness was taking him? He had no idea...

==============================================================================

After making his way through the land of Barovia which the darkness took him and helping take down the fell vampire lord named Strahd, he suddenly found himself lost again. He took to the road to find his lost clan with his newfound confidence and strength.

After a few months searching, he finally finds his old clan and immediately asks for his best friend's hand in marriage. Her sister, the clan chieftain however is against this. She believes Lynx to be a curse upon the clan and will not allow her sister to marry such a weak little monster. Well...he was weak the last time she saw him anyway. She challanges him to a duel, with the condiditons of letting him marry her sister if he wins, but him leaving the clan and never returning if he loses. It's a close fight, but he manages to edge out a win by the skin of his teeth. The entire competition does end up enraging his soon to be wife quite a bit however. Her sister for treating her like something to be given and taken at will and Lynx for not even asking what she thought before accepting the duel. She was going to say yes, no matter what her sister thought.

The two leave the clan to start their own family deep in the woods, near a village for easy access to some resources. They end up with two kids, both born with Lynx' tiefling curse. A girl with a stinger, and a boy with horns and his avian hands.
