Wine (full name Drinks-His-Wine) was born in Morrowind under the sign of the Shadow, raised as one of the last few Shadowscales before the eventual death of the practice. Ever since he was a small child, he has worked with and for the Dark Brotherhood, until its decline in the Fourth Era caused his sanctuary to shut down.
Following this, Wine travels to Skyrim around fifteen years before the arrival of the Dragonborn (4E 201) in search for one of the last few active locations of the Brotherhood. Some years later, they would catch word that the Night Mother was being transferred to the Falkreath sanctuary -- and he followed. So begins Skyrim's Dark Brotherhood questline.
