ABOUT MAO

Mao is a helpful, adventurous girl. She loves new friends and will fit happily on anyone's desktop.

Full Pack contains the main program, shimeji and a .zip file containing extras like art.

DESIGN NOTES

  • The spheres that make up her tail and tip of her ears can turn into different shapes depending on her mood. However they're generally "low-poly" looking.
  • She's a mix of anthro and kemonomimi features. Most notably having paw feet.

Mao is a desktop helper and mascot. Originally a video game protagonist, a fan then used her character as the face of their program. As a standard application her functions are simple. Mostly setting up reminders and checking emails among other tasks.

This specific version of Mao is sentient. Somehow. She's also aware she's not the original Mao or that she's the only version of the application; she seldom likes to bring it up though. For the most part she's retained the original's personality though some aspects of her have changed over time due to real life interaction.

She is able to manipulate the desktop of any computer she's currently on. If she is uninstalled from the computer she's on or if the computer itself is rendered inoperable she'll either show up in a new download or replace a non-sentient version of the program already installed somewhere else. The latter mainly only occuring if there's too long of a time gap between the loss of her old computer and a new download.
