Cherise is a very well-meaning girl; empathetic, kindhearted and playful, as long as you get to know her first. She can appear rough-around-the-edges to the average person who hasn’t had a chance to get to know her, as she is quite stoic and unwelcoming to strangers. She loves to see everyone around her happy, as it is what makes her happy. She struggles to be happy, which is a major problem when she has a phobia of sadness. Cherise cannot bear the thought of being unhappy, and will do whatever it takes to keep herself in a good mood. 

She is creative and deeply in-tune with her creative side, practicing calligraphy both in digital and traditional mediums! As a result, she always carries around a notebook to capture creative ideas or thoughts. Cherise is fiercely loyal to her friends, especially Mable, who is very good at offering a comforting word when Cherise is having a tough time. As a result, she can also be quite overprotective of them. She is also very curious!! She spends a lot of time researching birds, both domestic and exotic. But not just surface level research, she looks into other studies about the bird’s influence on certain cultures and into more strange and surreal topics, like the species’ favourite type of music. 

Cherise is quite stubborn at times, leading to conflicts when she is set on her own ideas or beliefs. She is also quite the introvert, spending lots of time alone to recharge. She loves her time alone, but also finds it hard to open up to others. Related to that, Cherise is also overly emotional, getting easily overwhelmed and struggles to make rational decisions. Cherise especially struggles with balancing her independence and dependence on others. She just cam never seem to get the right balance between being responsible for herself and accepting help from others. She also struggles with overthinking, so struggles to make decisions for herself. Cherise also has a habit of pacing around when anxious. 

Cherise is a veterinary technician for Bluehue Veterinary Clinic. Where she struggles to put her faith in people, she has no issue with putting the world aside to help animals. She is deeply compassionate for their well-being, often doing late nights and unpaid overtime to save animals in dire need of help. She loves talking to them. She knows that they may not fully comprehend what they are hearing, but she finds that talking to them is therapy for herself. 

When not working, Cherise loves to cook as she finds solace in the kitchen, loving to experiment with recipes for herself and friends. She also loves to read, getting lost in fiction; and to meditate as it helps her manager her emotions and maintain inner balance, but also spends lots of time playing video games and listening to music like the average 20-something. Cherise loves The Legend of Zelda series, as well as Animal Crossing, Undertale and Pokemon. Her favourite music genres to listen to are rap and punk rock, but she also listens to a while lot of everything. Her playlist makes zero sense and has no rhyme or reason for the songs in there. 

Cherise is quite sentimental, and holds onto lots of trinkets and personal items. She has an enormous collection of sentimental stuffed animals, a lot of them have been weathered by time and lots of adventures. They remind her of childhood, and also just feel like a warm hug. She also has a jar of rocks and shells from seaside visits with family throughout the years. She’s always adding to it.
