Many assume that Dalikamata's cautious nature comes from her blindness, but that is a meager fraction of the whole truth. She is supernaturally aware of her surroundings - to a certain extent - and lives faintly on edge, rarely knowing a moment alone without spirits near. She is quiet and aloof, a mysterious Toki with uncommon but explosive anger and a startling honesty. Still, she does care in her own detached sort of way.
Dali was not born blind, but she lost her sight young. Tales of evil spirits and shadow creatures intrigued her, already a strange little creature herself, and in the depths of the witching hours she wished aloud to be able to see the shadows. Sivoganik, God of Nightmares, overheard and approached the pup with a trick. He offered to grant her wish to see the shadows, and when she accepted, Sivoganik took her sight completely; however, he left her with the faintest remnants of spirit sight. She can sense the spiritual presence of the world around her and navigate through this awareness.
Now marked by the dark god, Dali not only sees spirits but is known by spirits. Evil spirits and the shadows she so longed to see often view her as a strange one of their own, while light spirits approach her with cautious curiosity. Dalikamata is not in and of herself evil, but she is chaotic and disconcertingly in touch with the darkness.
