Morgan

Grouchy, Dutiful, Introverted, Tough, Protective, Remorseful, Insecure

Outwardly, Morgan appears strong, reserved, and frankly, a quite grumpy. He is easily worn out and exhausted being around people, and he's not particularly social (not interested or adept). But he makes do when the situation calls for it. He tends not to trust people or let them get too close, so he prefers to keep to himself even in a group. Despite his strength and fighting ability, he is quite insecure about himself and lacks self confidence. He is a very capable person but hates the idea of dragging anyone down because of a mistake. He hates people depending on him because he doesn't think he's dependable. Morgan has done a lot of bad things in his past, and he carries that guilt around,  and it weighs him down.

Morgan was born deaf and grew up as an orphan in the slums. He didn't grow up with many opportunities for education and spent most of his young life completely nonverbal. It wasn't until his teen years that he started to speak, having a few friends who would chat with him regularly. This regular communication helped him pick up reading lips as well,  which was a great benefit to him. But Morgan was quickly reminded of the cruelty of this world, these interactions had made Morgan weary of communicating with others, finding himself faced with many horrible people, and he began to lose interest in speaking alloud. A few years later, he met Cardigan, a man who taught him to read and write and use his hands (sign-language) as an alternate form of communication. Not only that, but Cardigan taught him how to make money. Cardigan was the ring leader of a group of thieves and took Morgan under his wing. Morgan was able to stand on his own two feet now that Cardigan helped him up.

Cardigan and his crew were the closest thing Morgan ever had to family. But he reached his breaking point after many years with them,  and although he knew it was risky,  he ran away, and hid at an inn with the help of an old woman. He did odd jobs for her in attempts to repay her, but he knew it wasn't enough.

Trivia:

- Height: 5'4

- Doesn't know how to swim

- Likes: A home cooked meal! (particularly beef stew) & pearls are his favorite gem

- Always had ink, quill, and paper on him

- Morgan is a tightwad and is very careful about his spending habits, never wasting money unnecessarily and stores away his money every time he comes back from a job, tucked away and saved for something special.

- The tattoo on Morgan's face is a mark that he belongs to Cardigan's ring for life.
