Physical Description

Extremely tall for an Elf; considered a giant among his peers. Lithe and athletic. Hair is full, raven black; wavy. Eyes are a striking green with red extending out from and around the pupils.

Speech

English sounding accent. Can speak Common Tongue, Elvhen, Nevarran, Antivan and others fluently.

Mental & Emotional

Strong in purpose but soft when needed. Deals with a lot of responsibility and handles this through leaning on friends. Has lately been dealing with feelings of isolation and depression.

Beliefs

Full believer and worshipper in the Andrastian Chantry. Holds the Inquisitor as the full Herald of Andraste and believes in it religiously. Fell away from his traditional Dalish beliefs in his early teens.

Daily Life/Health

Life is very involved in constant scouting, time on the road and in the shadows. This keeps his body rigid and his skills well exercised. He occassionally drinks but does not partake in smoking anything.

Powers/Abilities

Expert Dalish taught archer. Has additional knowledge in poison making and trap crafting. Master lockpicker.

Background/Story

Born Dalish and free, he grew up alongside the future Inquisitor, Nylaathria; watching her blossom into the shoes of the Keeper. Together, they carried out assignments and stayed steadfast friends. During the moment she received the Anchor, he was taken captive along with her. This is where Eli was first introduced to Cassandra Pentaghast. While Nylaa was forced out to the breach and began the first heartbeats of the Inquisition, Eli was held captive until he was released into Haven and eventually used among Leliana's spies. This is where he stayed throughout the events of Inquisition, occassionally joining Nylaa's party to render aid.

He courted Cassandra during these times and eventually got through to her at Skyhold after reading her poetry over candlelight and convincing Varric to write his next romantic adventure for her. They became extremely close and the two were deeply in love by Corypheus' demise. During the visit to the Temple of Mythal, Eletharavas drank from the Well of Sorrows for the Inquisitor and paid the unknown price, leaving Cassandra angry and terrified for his safety. This was just proof of his undying loyalty to the Inquisition however and after some discussion, only strengthened their bond. Cassandra would alow Leliana to become Divine, preferring to stay in the frontlines of the Inquisition, next to her partner.

During a scouting, Eletharavas disappeared and didn't reappear for one year. He was found in Kirkwall by Garrett Hawke, starving outside an Elven alienage alongside other downtrodden "knife ears." The alienage had been torn down because of rampant "disease and filth" issues that leaked into High Kirkwall, causing issues for the rich. The issues only existing because of the poor conditions the elves were forced to live in in the first place. Hawke stumbled upon him among the others when he saw a man urinating on his feeble form. Garrett ended the man's life in a nearby alley and carried the stranger to Ander's clinic to receive help. The inquisitor, when visiting Kirkwall several weeks later, would accidentally run into her old friend here as he was staying until he got back on his feet. Eletharavas had no memory of the last year but he was alive. Cassandra had since assumed he passed away in his mission but held him in her heart. She has, however, never been good at expressing her feelings and since he's been back, they have not spoken deeply about what once was. His departure cut their relationship deeply and he is allowing her time to think.

Eli has gotten back onto his feet and back into action but has had some awful luck. He was caught in several life threatening situations with dire injuries and had a dragon fly over Skyhold and land directly over him. Mythal's guardian was sent by the Goddess herself in Solas' aid and he would be his rider. He is currently figuring out how to work with that new predicament and feels in over his head but is trying his best.

Trivia

• First name is pronounced Ell-Eh-Thar-Ah-Vahs and last name, Gare-Un.
• He chose to support Nylaa's stance on the vallaslin worn by the Dalish. Although he never cared for the traditions of their people, he carries some pride in his rite of passage. He also doesn't want her to stand alone on the subject.
• The red around his pupils is because of intense red lyrium exposure.

He is hopeful and optimistic. Quiet but not afraid to speak in times of importance or for others who cannot. Prefers to stay out of the spotlight. Driven and easily inspired by words from those who have big hearts. Incredibly caring and self-sacrificing.
